3D Sun
  • waxed paper
  • styrofoam ball
  • glue
  • yellow tissue paper
  • pipe cleaners
  • beads
  • glitter
  • Place a piece of waxed paper down to protect your surface. Mix 2 parts glue to 1 part water into bowl. Tear tissue paper into small 1 - 2 inch pieces and set aside. Now coat a section of the foam ball with the glue mixture and cover with pieces of the torn tissue paper. Coat over the tissue with glue to smooth down - it's okay to overlap the pieces. Continue this until the ball is completely covered. While ball is still wet, give it a quick light sprinkle of glitter. Let ball dry completely, make sure to turn the ball every 10-15 min to ensure that it dries on all sides.

After ball is dried, we are going to stick the pipe cleaners in to create the rays. Cut the pipe cleaners in ˝ and stick them into the foam ball in a row. Continue this till a row of rays are around the ball. Now you can either leave the pipe cleaners straight or you can get creative and make them bent or spiraled. Add a pony bead to the end of each pipe cleaner and twist to secure. Now tie a length of yarn or string to one of the attached pipe cleaners and you can hang your Sun to brighten any room!!
