Backyard Pond

Backyard Pond

You'll Need

Fish Net,Tub (plastic),gravel,Aquarium Pump,Plants,Airstone,and Plastic Tubing
Clean the tub, and fill with a layer of smooth rocks or aquarium gravel, aquarium plants (I use the plastic variety). Add water and let it set out for 24 hours to remove chlorine. Place plants in, anchoring them with the gravel. Plug in inexpensive aquarium pump with attached tubing and an air stone on the end that will drape over the tub. Anchor the air stone and tubing with a stone. My boys, who are the original Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn types, love to go to a local park and use their "fairly large fish nets" to catch their own "fish"---These are usually minnows! But boy, can they catch the fish! They are lots of fun to watch! (The fish as well as the boys!)
