Bear Hunt Extensions

The Bear Hunt fingerplay can be extended to a variety of themes and holidays. I have made up verses for Halloween, Christmas, the Three Bears, and used seasonal themes to "cross over"( mud in spring, snow in winter). For example, for Halloween, my class will go on a witch hunt, where we end up going into a witch's house and she gets on her broom to chase us back home (using the traditional tall grass, river, tree, etc). For the Three Bears, we go through the forest and end up at the three bears home and go through the same motions as Goldilocks. Then we pretend that the bears come home and find us in little bear's bed. The Bear Hunt can be extended to be used in a variety of units or themes. | | | | | | | |
