Used books in good conditionHow many of you have children who whiz through their books and then complain about having nothing to read? The idea behind a BOOK SWAP is to have each child collect books they no longer read and bring it to one central location. They receive "chips" or some other sort of object for each book they donate. They can then "purchase" new books from those that other children have brought in. You can use this idea among neighborhood friends, preschools, Brownie Troops, mom's groups...It is very flexible. I have done this several times with excellent results! Hint: You want the children to bring age appropriate reading material. If a 9-year old brings old preschool books, that means some other 9-year old will not have enough books to choose from. Also, you may decide to have everyone donate one book for "free" just to have a small cushion. It can be their "cost" of participating in the book swap.
