Bugs in a Cup

Bugs in a Cup

You'll Need

small plastic bugs,10 cups,marker
Label each cup with a different number, 1-10. Use small plastic bugs as counting tools. The key to keeping the children interested is your facial expressions and hand movements. For this activity I told the children we were going to count icky, eewey bugs and put the right number of bugs into each cup. For example, the cup with the number three would be the home for three bugs. The children love pretending these bugs are real and that we have to put them into the cups quickly before they crawl on us. Make sure you ask the children to count with you and ask them if you need to put more bugs or less bugs into each cup in order to have the right amount.
