Candy Bar Writing

Candy Bar Writing

You'll Need

assortment of full size or snack size candy bars, paper, and pencil
Have the children make a chart on their paper with the following topics: Smell, Sound, Look, Hear, Touch, Taste. Give them each a candy bar. Have them look at the wrapped candy bar and put in any descriptions that fit in the correct category on the chart. Then have them take off the wrapper, carefully so it isn't ripped too much. Again have them look at the candy bar and add any descriptive words to the chart. Let them take a bite and add any more words. They can then construct a short story, poem, or other writing using the descriptive words that they wrote about their candy bar. Glue the candy bar wrapper above the story on the paper. Good activity beginning writing skills.
