You'll Need

markers,crayons,paper,pictures of plants,plants
Have students study pictures of native Carribean plants, such as, passion fruit, banana and lime trees, lilies, bouganvillea, oleander, hibiscus, bamboo, royal palms, guava, ginger, orchids, jade vine, mahogany and casuarina trees, whitewood, sea grape, flamingo flower, pineapple, and bay trees. You can have them study the pictures and then create their own garden based on what they saw. You can also bring in some of the various plants listed above for a more sensory approach. Also have the children add colorful native birds like pelicans, herons, parrots, and parakeets.
