Cheerio Christmas Trees
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 - 250g pkg regular marshmallows
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 6 cups cheerios
  • red and green candies ( m & m's)
  • white icing
  • green food coloring
  • In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add marshmallows, stir until melted. Remove from heat, add vanilla and green food coloring. Add cereal, stir until well coated.
Butter each child's hands well, then give them a large amount of cheerios to shape into the shape of a Christmas tree (pyramid). When it is well packed with their hands, let them take white icing and stick the red and green M&M's on for christmas lights. Something that is beautiful as a decoration on the mantle, or as a snack! Enjoy.
