Corn Necklace
  • tagboard
  • Dried corn kernels
  • Piece of dried corn husk
  • white glue
  • hole punch
  • scissors
  • red yarn
  • black yarn
  • and green yarn
  • Munhindi means corn. The corn represents the children of a family. Make your mom a necklace with one ear of corn for each child in your family.

    1. Cut a corn shape from tagboard for each ear of corn on your necklace. Choose the number of ears of corn by how many children the mother has.

    2. Twist the three colors of yarn together to make one strand. Put a small piece of tape on one end to make it easier to thread through the holes. Punch two holes in the top of each one and string them across strands of the three colors of yarn. Be sure to make it long enough to go over your mom's head.

    3. Tie the three yarn together in the back to make the necklace.

    4. Cover each corn shape with glue. Stick a small piece of corn husk at the top of each ear.

    5. Then cover the ears with rows of corn kernels to make it look like real ears of corn. Make sure to use enough glue so that they will adhere well.
