Use the paper to make watermelon slices. These can be done by cutting paper into circles and then cutting in half. Start with green paper and then put the white piece over it leaving just some of the green showing. This will be the watermelon rind. Add the red layer over the white again with just some of the white showing. Trim all the pieces to the size of the green piece. Use the markers to draw seeds onto the red piece. You will have what looks like a watermelon slice. I use this for a bulletin board or a door display. I make the words "Enjoy a slice of summer" out of red construction paper and use a marker to make seeds on this also. I also have a large ant that is carrying a piece of watermelon to add to the display. I laminate the watermelon slices and write each child's name on a slice with a wet erase marker. A brilliant display and the pieces can be used over and over.
