Fall Leaf Printing

Fall Leaf Printing

You'll Need

tempera paint and various types of leaves
I always allow the children to choose two or three leaves from the assortment I have brought to school. I set out different fall leaf colors of tempera paint (orange, red, yellow, brown). The children paint the back of the leaves (where the veins can be felt the best) with a paint brush and one or more of the colors of paint. The children then carefully lay their leaves on a piece of white paper and tap them gently with their fingers. We then remove the leaves from the paper to view the beautiful (and accurate) prints they have made. Deb Havens (kindergarten)
