Hand Match

Hand Match

You'll Need

Construction paper, clear adhesive paper or laminate, marker, rubber stamps, and ink pad
To help our preschoolers learn right from left, we give them some responsibility early on. Trace around both of a child's hands on the construction paper and stamp only the right hand tracing. Laminate the paper. Each day as the children enter they are eager to run over and lay their hands on the hand match. They make sure to lay their right hand on the paper stamped hand, and then they stamp their own right hand. They learn that they place their right hand over their heart for the pledge to the flag, hold the railing on the stairs with their right hand, etc. Of course, we vary the stamps daily to correspond to themes, holidays , and special days.
