Shaving cream
small amount of liquid tempera paint
9x12 white paper
large smooth work surface
Spray a "plop" of shaving cream in front of each child and allow them to smear, smoosh, and draw with it on the table. Go back around and add a small squirt of tempera paint (red for Valentines Day, green for Saint Patrick's Day, etc.) to each child's area and allow them to work it into their creation. As each child finishes with the shaving cream, press a paper into the "mess" on the table to make a print of the painting. (The shaving cream makes clean-up of the children AND work surfaces a snap!) When the papers are dry, fold them into your favorite party hat, write the artists name on the side and enjoy!!
