My children, ages 7,6,and 5 have certain daily chores to do. To earn extra money, we have other jobs that need done in the Job Jar. Each job has a monatary value based on the amount of work involved. All jobs are ones that all three of my children can do. The only rule is if they pick a job, they must do it. Each job is on a strip of paper folded so it's contents cannot be seen until it is unfolded. When the job is completed, I mark it on their chore chart and list how much money they get in addition to what they earn from their weekly allowance. On Friday, when allowance is given, they each have 2 containers. One is a savings container, the other they may spend on something they want. After they have so much money in their savings, it goes to the bank.
