Leaf Scribbles
  • fall leaves from the tree
  • crayons or chalk
  • blank paper squares
  • paper or plastic plate to fit the leaf
  • tape or sticky tac
  • This is a great creative, science,or sensory idea. Choose a few leaves off the tree. Any size is okay. Try to get some really colorful ones to grab their attention. Tape the leaf down to a small paper or plastic plate, or onto the table. I do this because the toddlers have a difficult time controlling the leaf from moving around.
Cut out square pieces of blank paper, just enough to fit over the leaf. Add a few colorful crayons to the table. Try to stick with the fall colors. Place the paper directly over the leaf and stand back and observe their faces light up when they realize that with a little scribbling the leaf will appear on the paper. This idea is great for all ages.
