Mother's Day Gift
  • Construction paper (colored and white)
  • glue
  • picture of child
  • tempera paint
  • pen or poem
  • ribbon
  • Print out poem...

These little hands will never grow,
These little hands will stay, just so,
When I'm grown and far away,
These little hands with you will stay.

I print the poem and center it on an 81/2 x 11 sheet of plain copier paper. To each side of the poem I paint the child's hands and make handprints. Just below the poem I place a picture of the child that was taken in the classroom. If the child can write he or she can sign their name and date the paper. If not, then I do it. I then use the colored construction paper for a background, and place the white sheet on top in a matching color. I then laminate it, roll it up, and tie with a ribbon for each child to present to Mom.
