Color a snow scene (Snowmen, snow covered ground,etc.) pressing firmly with crayons. Paint a mixture of Epson Salt and water on it to make crystals in the background. For the Epson salt mixture boil 1 cup of water then add 1 cup of Epson salt. Stir until it dissolves. After it cools paint it on the paper. It looks like water when painted on but when it dries you see the effect.
