Woke up to a phone call from my day care parent letting me know that she wasn't going to be going to work today... so I've ended up with the day off. I'm still debating how I should spend my day... There are a few places I'd like to go but not too sure if I want to drive there. The road construction around here is terrible and I hate driving through it. We'll see...
Not too much more on my agenda today... picking my mom up later and taking her to Target to pick up her meds then maybe a short visit later. Looks like it's going to be a nice day.
Hope you all have a good one...
Diane...
At ds' birthday party last year, there was a mess up so the place gave us a gc for a free party. I am taking 9 of his friends there today (bowling place) for an 'end of summer, welcome to high school party'.
DD is playing with a friend after school.
Hoping to get schoolwork done and out of the way quickly this morning!!! :) There are a few things around the house that need attention and I hate it when things drag out all day long, so I'd like to get all that done, too.
The kids have gymnastics this afternoon and I'll be running to Wal-mart for a few things. That's about it on my oh, so full agenda today!
Diane, I was amazed at the amount of construction you all have going on at once up there!!! 8o My sil calls it "orange cone season", lol! At least yours has to be done in a timely manner. We've had road construction projects that have dragged on for over two years.
Ann, that sounds like a blast! They must've messed up good to give you a gc for another party! :D
Diane, enjoy your day.
Ann, what a great way to spend the day.
Pam, orange cone season, rofl...
Not much on today for me either. Work, dinner at Dad's. Ds is leaving early Friday morning for a 12 day vacation with a friend and his family so I'm trying to spend as much time with him as I can before Thursday evening (he's spending the night at their home to get an early start). We haven't been away from ds for more than a week back in 1998 so it's going to be tough.:\

I finally woke up at a decent time this morning. I hadn't put away the camping geer from the weekend. I'm just starting on that now.
I've been working more lately because my client's been bed bound for the last 3 weeks after she suffered some compression fractures in her back. They're starting her on hospice care now, keeping her as comfortable as they can. She's been getting more rest and smilling occasionally. Her dd thinks she may bounce back. We will see. It's sad. I just hope she doesn't have to endure any more pain. She'll be 92 next month. :(

They did mess up pretty badly, but I am really good and bitching so this was more to shut me up! LOL

The Sistas are coming in October so I'm fixing up the house - stuff that needs doing (painting) and little things that we knew we needed but never had motivation to do - change light fixtures, new potty seats. LOL!!!!
Also, getting ready to go back to the beach tomorrow, so it's laundry, oil change, all that exciting stuff.
Ann- that is very cool!
Diane - enjoy your day off, heck ya get out and drive thru that mess - at least it's not on the weekend when everyone else is driving in it. :)

Still going through the kids toy boxes and boxes from the crawl space but getting close to the end. What a relief to get it done.
Dh found the floor in his office (new) downstairs had water on it. Thought that maybe the floor was sweating even though he did everything to prevent that. I went in the crawl space and found water along one of the walls so it looks like there may be a crack in the foundation. I hope he doesn't have to do too much work to fix the office or the wall. When it rains it pours.
I still need to find time to go to the grocery store today. Ever notice how some days just don't have enough hours?
Have a great day all. :)

Went to the fair in my hometown last night. Saw lots of people and ate too much, but had fun. :) Breezy and overcast here today - looks like a good day to hit the laundry pile. :yippee:
Melody - Ugh about the leak! :\ Water issues are never fun ~ hope you can get it repaired easily.
Ann - What fun!!
Jenn - You can help me around here when you're done there. ;)
Bev - Hope the time goes fast when your ds is gone!
Pam - Send your motivation my way. LOL!
Jeannie - Hope your client is okay!
Diane - Get out and enjoy your free time!! :D
Good morning, or I guess almost afternoon.
My morning has been totally shot! I slept in till 10:30 today, I never do that, but it felt so good. Then talked to dd on the phone for 1/2 hour, and just finished sending an e-mail to sil.
Hmm, know what can I do for the afternoon?!
Dd is going on the last youth program trip tonight, they are going rock climbing and horse back riding. This has been such a good program this summer, she has so enjoyed it.
AnnW- what a nice way to start the kids back to school! (school starts tomorrow for them?)
Diane - enjoy your day off
Bev- I have never been away from youngest dd for more than a few days, I can't imagine 12 days! Hope you can enjoy some of your alone time.
Just got home from work at the gas station. I got called in early today. Waiting on the Sears guy to hopefully fix my fridge. Dks are at the pool with friends and I'm going to veg in front of the tv.

Today was the first day of school for us. It was only 1/2 day. My neighbor friends and I sat in my driveway for 3 hours chatting, drinking coffee and eating doughnuts after the bus left! So much for my diet today!

It sounds like a good time was had by all... LOL Our kids won't be starting school until September 1st. Most all of the mom's I've talked with who have schooler's are more than ready to send them back to school, as are their kids. :) I hope your kids had a good first day of school.

Not me!! :bawling: I dread the end of summer and all of the time we get to spend together. Of course we have days where dks are driving each other (and me LOL) crazy, but I love having them home. :)
