A Sarah Update... :)

It's been a while since Dawn has made any updates on her site... so I just thought I'd update everyone on how Sarah is doing. She's got 7 teeth now... (and biting 8o ) She's been going to a feeding clinic and is finally starting to eat food through her mouth. They're still giving her formula/cereal through her G-tube too because what she's been eating isn't enough to totally fill her up... (she needs to have a certain amount of calaries per day) but at least it's a start. If she continues to eat well they'll probably be taking her G-tube out soon. She now weigh's l7 pounds...

She's also learned how to crawl... and is getting into everything. LOL She's catching up and starting to do everything that most babies her age normally do... which is so good to see. She's also gotten to be very verbal. For a while she was so quiet her doctor was afraid that she might be hard of hearing. Well... she's definitely not. LOL

You don't know how wonderful it is to see Sarah starting to be/act like a "normal" baby and to be able to treat her like a normal baby too. She's come a long long way in her 9 months of life. :) So... just thought I'd give you an update as to how things have been progressing with Sarah.

Dawn is working part time... (16 hours a week) in order to keep their insurance. If she quit they'd be paying mega bucks (about $350/400.00 a month) just for Sarah's health insurance... to say nothing about what their's would cost. If it wasn't for that... she'd be home full time, but that's not something she could do and still afford to pay for the insurance. They're very lucky that James is self employed and his schedule is flexable. That way he is able to stay home and take care of Sarah while Dawn is at work. :)

I was for a while, every Monday... but with all the road construction it was taking James at least 45 minutes just to cross the bridge to get here. After he'd drop her off he'd have to go back across the bridge again to get to where he'd need to go. Then they'd have to come across it again to pick Sarah up and again to get back home. Ugh... They were spending more time on the road driving her back and forth than doing what they were needing to do. James' mom works right over by their house so she's been going there after work to take care of Sarah while James goes on his appointments and until Dawn can get back home. Even though I miss seeing Sarah... I think this arrangement works out better for everyone. :)

Oh Diane that is greattttt !!!!!!! am so glad to hear she is doing so well... but sorry to hear ya ain't babysitting so much, but it is understandable, for sure !!

I can't believe she's 9 months old already! It just seems like Dawn and James got married. Boy how time flies. I'm glad to hear that Sarah is going so well. Mentally is Dawn doing better? At least she only has to work 16 hours a week to keep their insurance.
