Let's share our ideas for using the lids from frozen juice....

The only thing we ever did with ours was to make a memory matching game, using clip art from the computer glued on.

Tristan made a beautiful wind chime. Five or six juice lids with a hold punched in them, tied with fishing wire. Take a metal pie tin, paint it fabulous colors, then connect the lids. It really does make a lovely sound! Amy

PS You can't paint the lids or it dulls the sound, only paint the pie tin.

Juice Lid Memory Game

Metal lids from frozen juice containers
Matching pairs of stickers
Instructions:
Instead of throwing out the lids from juice concentrate, save them!
When you have about 24, attach stickers to one side of 12 of the lids, and identical stickers to the next 12, so you have a matching set.

This is played like the classic Concentration card game. Teach children how to play the "memory" game by turning them all up-side-down, hiding the pictures. Take turns turning over 2 at a time. If they match, they can be kept. The player with the most matches wins.

Juice Lid Drop Game

Materials Needed:

Metal lids from frozen juice containers
Stickers
Coffee Can

Instructions:

A fun activity for younger children! Save and clean the lids from frozen juice containers. Decorate them with stickers if you like. Clean out a large coffee can and cut a slit in the plastic lid just large enough to slip in a frozen juice container lid. The younger kids love to hear the "plink" sound as they drop the juice container lids through the slit and into the coffee can. Do not let young children reach into the coffee can to remove the lids unless you cover the rough edges with tape!

Santa Magnet
Materials Needed:

Juice Can Lid
Felt (peach, red, white)
White Curling Ribbon
Marker
Magent
Glue

Instructions:

Trace around the juice can lid onto the peach colored felt; cut it out. Cut out a santa hat using the red and white felt.

Cut 10 pieces of curling ribbon, each one about 8 inches long. Using the edge of your scissor or a butter knife, run it down the ribbon to curl it. This will be Santa's beard. Glue the curls around the edge of the juice can lid so the curls hang over the side. Glue the curls around about half the juice can lid.

Glue the peach colored felt onto the juice can lid to cover the ends of the curling ribbon. Glue santa's hat onto the juice can lid opposite of the curling ribbon beard. Glue the magnet to the back of the juice can lid.

Use the marker to draw santa's eyes, nose, and mouth. You can also cut these features out of felt and glue them on.

Hope these helped... :)

In the book "Trash to Teasure" about making crafts from recycled items, I believe they made Christmas tree ornaments from them, to hang on an outside evergreen tree.
