:bigcry: I am going to sign my baby up for kindergarten today. :bigcry: I can't believe it and he is sooo excited! I am going to need a big shoulder this August!
Bless your heart! I remember the lump in my throat when dd went off to K, but now I complain when they get a half day off!!! LOL
I couldn't be unhappy because dd was estaic to start. She still loves going to school everyday. The days off from school are the hard part!!

angie - I will be the same way when ds is off to school, especially if things don't get better with him and preschool this fall. Regardless I am pathetic though - I was :bawling: when I watched my nephew get on the bus for the first time! LOL! Hang in there!!!!
he was thrilled and I was sad...now this sept. dd and ds will board that bus, and I will be alone...yikes.....can't believe I will be happy and sad again....for at least for 1/2 day...prek is only 1/2 day.....your going to do great and we will all be here for you.... (((((((((hugs)))))))

Thank you!!
Everything went really well today. He was a little shy at first but before long he was himself again. He is all signed up and ready to start!
One funny thing did happen. They evaluate all the kids and a teacher asked ds to draw a picture of himself. He said "I can't." Then the teacher said, "what do you look like?" Ds said, as he rolled his eyes and dropped his hands to his side looking right at her....."like this." The teacher was howling. :biglaugh: Poor ds, he thought she was laughing at him and got up and walked away.

A logical mind!!! I love it! LOL
When dd was 4, the teachers would ask her "what color is this, what color is that?" She finally said.."you are alot older than me, if you don't know, why should I?" Can't fault that logic!! LOL

It was very hard sending ds off to JK last fall. He came home so excited after the first day, that it made me feel much better. We'll be here for you when the time comes.
It seems like there are a few of us with dk's starting Kindergarten next year. My ds will start too. He's so excited about it and so am I!!! When we lived in NC he was in PreK but now that we are in AK he doen't go to school anymore. He's so bored at home! He wants to go to school and make new friends. He'll be happier at school- I just hope that he was a good teacher!

That's what my mom is always saying with a touch of a demonic laugh in her voice, but I don't think I was ever like that!!!!! :newwink:
I did have a chuckle, but unlike your mom it didn't sound demonic.

I remember (years ago) when my dd came home from her first day of preschool and she told me that she didn't think her teacher was very smart because she was asking SO many questions. She went on to tell me how she had to tell her teacher what colors everything was and then... because she couldn't remember ANYTHING, went on to ask everybody else too. She just couldn't understand why this person was the teacher and didn't seem to know a thing! LOL

Ya'll are too funny, but now it makes me scared to ask children questions. They'll go home and tell their mother how dumb I am. LOL!!!!
