I will be teaching a week long unit on our state (VA) next summer on a pediatric floor at a major hospital. The ages range from 6-16 and some kids will be sick and some will be healthy; so-o-o-o I can use anything anyone may have. I will focus on famous Virginians, old Virginia, fighting Virginia, secret Virginia (underground railroad) and wild Virginia. Nothing can be done outside and I really want to stay away from construction paper and glue unless child's needs are basic. Obviously, this summer program is voluntary so doing things that are too much like school are not popular.
