I know someone posts about it a long time ago and I was just wondering if that person or anyone else is a member and goes to Curves. They are opening one fairly close to my house and I'm thinking about joining. I wanted to in AK, but the hours weren't convient for me and they didn't offer childcare. I'll have to check on the hours here and I wouldn't need childcare anymore as my dks are older now. I know my 2 friends loved it, but that was a while back. Just wondering what others thought.

I'm curious too because they just opened one up no more than a mile from my house. I try to exercise each/every day at my house but sometimes it's just too easy to find an excuse not to. :( :( I think if I belonged to something like this I'd be better at keeping up with it. :)

It was me that used to go. I went about 1 1/2 ago, for approximately 8 months. I really enjoyed it. It's a great concept, 30 minute exercise program using a variety of machines. Between each machine, there is a platform where you are supposed to do carido for a set amount of time (I think it was a minute). A signal tells the clients when it is the appropriate time to switch to the next piece of equipment, and when to take your pulse.

I stopped going cuz I got busy with camp, but I am rethinking joining again.

So you liked it?

I have an appointment on the 3rd (the day they open). Hope all goes well and I like it. It's less than 10 miles from my house and I don't have to cross the busy highway to get there. Parking may be a pain though. I'm thinking of asking a friend if she wants to go with me. She's a new friend and I don't want to freak her out (like making her think I think she's overweight or something). What's a nice way to ask her???

Sorry, forgot to mention it...yup. I did like it. I'm not sure if it really works as well as doing a full work out in a gym, but I think combined with a healthy diet, you would definately see results.

I liked the quickness of the workout, what I didn't like that it wasn't so close to my house. A little more difficult to get to. I think they would suggest going 3-4 times per week.

LOL about how to ask your new friend. Has she mentioned that she has wanted to get into shape, or is it your suggestion?

Jen~ how about just saying that you were thinking of joining Curves and you didn't want to join by yourself. Ask her if she would like to join with you to keep you company and so ya'll could get to know each other better.

My suggestion. LOL She's really nice and moved here from AK just a few months before I did. She's a new dc provider and I'm her mentor (that's how I met her).

Great idea. The reason I want to ask her is because I know it's a better to have a friend pushing you along. I'd join by myself and go without any problems because I enjoy working out when I have somewhere to go. I think it'd just be better with a friend. The other ladies I know here would drive me nuts and I wouldn't even want them to know I was going there for fear they would join!

I know quite a few people who have done it...They like it but they usually don't keep going after a few months...I'm not sure why.
