I have 2 computers at the preschool for the kids to play games on. Both have Windows 98 but one only has 64 RAM memory and the other 32. I know for the newer games we've gotten we need 128 plus 3 D accelerator or whatever for all the graphics. Does anyone know how hard it is to upgrade this? Is it even possible for a common non-computer techie to do? Any ideas on how expensive it would be for a computer tech to do it??

Linda,
If you buy it from Best Buy you can have them install it for you.
To upgrade the memory its easy, as long as you have your original book that tells ya what pin ya have an such. But you need either to upgrade a double at the time or buy 2 of the same and install them both at the same time. But if ya don't feel comfortable doing it yourself and your not sure about it then have the teckie do it where you buy it.
Hmm that also brings up another question ?? have you ever plugged all the things back kup on the back of the tower??? (puter)?? If not, then maybe you should have someone else do it.
like 64 : you would want to double that to 128, the 32 to 64 etc. That is the memory part of it. Easy if ya know what your doing ONLY!! Hubby showed me so I can do it myself. Hmm but hard to explain. For me anyways it is hard to explain. But if you know where the memory card is and where it goes, then all ya'll to do is pull that one out an take it with you and get another one identical to it and re-install the one and put the other in the slot next to it.
As far as the 3-D card that is another subject entirely!!! Thats a graphics card. I would have to take the cover off to even come close to explaining where to even look at what that is. And I need hubby one the fon lolol. hmmm
