View Full Version : I'm ALLIIIVVEEE!! oh and it's Tuesday too!
I finally came off my virus mid yesterday. I went to the Doctor's that morning and he said I prob. had a reaction to some food (causing the burping and such) and then a stomach virus kicked in on Friday and stayed until yesterday. My stomach is still a tad sensitive, but food doesn't make me physically ill when I am near it now. How crappy is this-after a week of barely eating to no eating-I only lost 3 lbs!! I swear I need my thyroid checked!
Okay, on to normal Tueday thread. Dh and I are going to Lowes this afternnon to order our new kitchen. We finally found solid wood cabinets that have a white glaze on them. We are getting royal blueish (it is textured, not solid colored) counter top. We also have to figure out sink, faucet, dishwasher, microhood, cabinet pulls and etc. W ill be glad when this is done!

DS is so sick. It's starting to get croupy sounding. Have a doc appointment this afternoon. Laundry and all that.

I remember when your ds used to get bad croup. Does he always resort to croup when he gets to a certain level of sickness. Poor kid!
I couldn't get dh into the silestone. He thought that all the flecks of quartz and the silver flecks was borderline gaudy. Since I changed the color of his beloved dining room (now our den), I couldn't overrule him on this one too. LOL We are actually going for a formica with some certain special cut to it. Not only will it save us thousands of dollars, but if I hate it within 5 years, I can change it without guilt.

He's not full blown croup like before, but sounds barky when he coughs.
Isn't that formica you picked speckled? ;) He wouldn't like my dream granite very much either! LOL

Not much on today. Work and my volunteer shift tonight. Will pop in to see my Dad before I got to my volunteer shift as it's right across the road. I'm feeling guilty because I haven't seen him since his b-day on Sat. I've been going to BIL/SIL's to work out instead ;)
Got up and went to the gym this morning with dh. I have a Partylite party tonight at my house so I won't be able to go to Curves. My babies are back today and I have a drop-in this afternoon so I should have a fun and busy day. Things have been so much different with my non-talker gone. It's much more calm and relaxing.
Ann-hope they can figure out what is wrong with ds.
Amy- have fun! I'm so jealous... I can't wait to own my own house.
Bev-any news on when your dad will get out of the hospital?

Morning All!
Couldn't fall asleep last night so I slept late today...still feeling tired. Might just be a lazy day...Need to start reading the classifieds for a job. :bawling:

Ann-hope they can figure out what is wrong with ds.
I am 99% positive it's just this crappy cold that I had and then dd...he's about a week and a half behind. And it's pretty much a 2 week deal. I think his immune system is just weaker because of all of his other probs. plus you just can't be sick in high school!!

Hola! Had to hit the doctor's office this a.m., yet another freakin' ankle sprain. Fell UP the sunroom steps, which are concrete with imbedded tile, so I'm also cut up and swollen/bruised up my leg. Flingin' flangin' kamikaze cats did it to me again!! Grrr! But at least I got some happy pills!!! :lolL
Nothing on the job front. Going to check into some catering places, I think I'd enjoy that, since I love to cook!!!
Not much else on the docket! Need to keep the ankle up, gee, hate that I have to lay around all day!! LOL
Ann - hope ds feels better soon. Dd gets the croupy cough every time she gets any kind of bug. Have no idea how such a little girl can have such a huge, loud cough!
Amy - glad you're feeling better, I know how miserable you must have been.

Is it just me or did everyone have a hard time getting in here today? I tried all day and just got in a few minutes ago.
Spent the first half of today making train sets and eating pretend food. lol
Was going to go to the store but might wait since dh said I may have to pick him up from work. He can wait in the car with the kids if that's the case. He has his truck in the shop.
Fil is coming tomorrow for dinner so I have to make sure I have a meat/potatoes kind of dinner (if it was lasagna or spaghetti, meat and potatoes would have to be on the side). Drove mil crazy. LOL He's funny but I will make what makes him happy since I adore him. :)
Talked to my mom last night, glad she got some antibiotics. Doc said she has bronchitis. Poor thing, she's not used to sitting for longer than 15 minutes and is tired of being in bed.
Amy, glad your feeling better. Have fun picking everything out for your kitchen.
Ann, hope your ds gets better soon.
Bev, like Jak, I too was wondering if there was any word on when he can go home.

Ann, sorry ds is feeling so crappy. Seems once you get out of 2nd grade you just can't miss any school. They are going so fast here that you get behind quickly.

Wanna hook me up with your dr? :newwink: I swear you are the only person I know who gets pain meds for a sprain - every other dr seems to send people home telling them to ice it and take ibuprofen. 8o Hope you feel better soon!!

Another icy day here. Roads weren't real bad, but still had some preschool kids stay home. We will be in a winter weather advisory tomorrow am at 6 until 6 pm tomorrow night. They're talking freezing rain and 2-4 inches of snow.

I'm so ready for Spring!! Snowy days just aren't any fun anymore.
Still no word on the girl that is missing. I guess they are sending diving teams down since they found a crack in the ice. I have this girl's nephew in preschool and his mom said he was having a really hard time and didn't want to come in. My heart just breaks for them.
Better get headed to bed. Have another head ache. I think the power of my contacts need to be changed.

Amy/CO getting a new kitchen sounds like fun-- I'm really wanting a new kitchen floor. Mine is a no wax floor that's 20 + years old!

it sure seems like it. it's just that I got it first right before Christmas and it's gone through the house slowly but surely! grrrrr

You know I remember when I was a kid....I got broncitis like every six months and I was home for a week or two each time....I've seemed to have out grown it...hopefully your ds will too.
