Adware/Spyware question

Do you have a program installed on your computer? If so, what do you use? Anyone know of any good and free downloads?? TIA!

We downloaded (free) Ad-aware and Spybot search and destroy. I'm not sure how good they really are. Sometimes they really seem to help, other times they don't seem to do much.

I have spybot...but I don't even have a clue what it does...my dad installed it when he was here.

I did the spybot download and ironically, that was the name of the worm that I had to remove. I also did the ad-aware download @ lavasoft but haven't figured out just how to use it. LOL

Dh suggested a good internet site Kim Komando. It's www.komando.com
She has links to the downloads and daily tips and websites, etc. Seems good so far. She also does a radio call-in show which I have not caught yet.

I use the ad-ware SE and it seems to work pretty good. Hubby gets on to me about doing it more than just once every 2 weeks though .. lolol But mainly because I live on the net, sorta .. lol
I haven't used a spybot one yet, or atleast I dont' think I have .. lolol cuteee..

Littlesista : when you keep clicking on next and letting it do its own thing, it will give ya a list of items, check the boxes next to ? dataminer? and click next let it delete them that way. thats what I do. then when your done just click on the X at the top left otherwise if ya click on the next or start?? it will run again, learned that by mistake .. lol hmm

Thanks Judy - I downloaded both and have been running them each week. I did the same with hitting next and then having it start all over again. :rolleyes: :lol:
