I didn't think I'd make my goal yesterday, but the gym really helped. I don't do a lot of walking during the course of the day and I didn't realize that until I started this whole thing. My goal today is 8500 since that's about what I did yesterday and I'm going to curves tonight.

Jen-here is somethings you can do to help your count. Marching in place (I have been doing that while watching Ellen) and if you go out, park as far from the store as possible. March with your knees up and you can add arm movements (mimick what you would be doing at Curves on the machines) to give full aerobic workout. Everything counts!

What is everyone doing for food intake? I always go for Lean Cuisine Pot sticker meals for lunch. I use the small dish the meal comes in as my guide for how much food I should eat for dinner. I eat whatever I am fixing for dinner, but this will help with portion control. Half of the dish should be veggies and the rest fit your meat and starch in.

Right now I am at 4865 steps and still shooting for 10,000 a day.

I am sooooo impressed with you all. Ok Maybe I'll start my stretching excercise that I should do...I've been talking about it for weeks....maybe watching you all will keep me motivated.

Jen I am with you about not realizing how little walking I did before the pedometer! I walked and marched my little butt off and I took off the pedometer at 11,157 steps. But never in a million years would I ever of thought to exercise conciously for that long!!!! I always had a great metabolism and could do the bare minimum, but now that I am older it is a lot harder to survive on less food and more exercise. The up side is that I feel better than I have in a long time!!!!

I agree...now that I am wearing this, I am really trying to do spot exercises like Amy said.

Right now I am at 9224. My goal is 10,000 which I definately will achieve. It helped a lot that I went for a 30 minute walk on my lunch time at work today (I brought a change of clothes with me).

Keep stepping girls!!!! :walkin: :walkin: :walkin: :walkin: :walkin:

Okay....I have an excuse....it's freakin -40C here with the wind! Needless to say I didn't get out for my walk.
I did manage 6000 steps though. :walkin:

If I could just convince myself that I shouldn't eat as much as I do, I might see better results for weight loss!

Mine wasn't hooked on right yesterday and half way through the day I noticed that it only said 112 steps! Fixed my pants and put it back on correctly and ended up with 4310 steps for the day! UGH! I went to Curves after work so I know that's the only reason I eneded up with that many steps. I made sure it's attached correctly this morning!!

As far as food intake... I'm being a pig. My Partylite party was an ice cream sundae party and we had a LOT of ice cream in the house which I love. So I've had ice cream everyday for the past week. Good thing it's just about gone and I'm ice creamed out. Won't be buying any more anytime soon.

Is it normal to be starving after working out? When I got home from Curves last night I was starving.

Unfortunately, it is very normal. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water before and after the workout. You may be mistaking thirst for hunger pains. If that doesn't work, eat an apple with a light smear of peanut butter. That should quell it without going calorie overload.

Get that ice cream out of the house!! LOL

My friend swear by an apple as a snack during the day...says it fills her up...I on the other hand go for the snack bars or cookies....LOL

I drink tons of water on a normal basis. I have been know to drink more than a gallon a day. I don't drink anything other than water unless we go out to eat which isn't often.

The ice cream is almost gone- but I'm so over it, it's not even funny!
