How is everyone's average? I definitely make my count during the week. It is harder to do on the weekends, but 5 out of 7 is good enough for me. It seems I do a bulk of my steps by marching in place. My basement is too cold and unmotivating for the treadmill, so I turn on some good tv throughout the day and march while watching.

Anyone else have any tricks or tips on how best to keep the numbers up?

I get around 8 on the weekend and only average around 4-6 during the week. just goes to show me how much I don't move during the week. Curves helps and I don't actually do any "marching" in place. When I have it's really made my #'s go up, so I really need to start doing that.

I have high and low days. I guess if I average it out, I make around 8000/day.

Wish our weather would co-operate so it would be more fun to be outside walking.

I haven't tried the marching yet...kinda seems like cheating...but guess it is exercise!

Believe it or not, it is actually harder than walking. You don't have momentum to help you with either your arms or legs. After 15 minutes of active marching, you can break a sweat. The key is to keep you knees soft while doing it. Don't use locked knees when you are coming down. If you keep everything thing soft and slightly bent and use your arms to pump, it is a great workout you can do in front of the tv.

That's funny cause I used to do that as part of my excercise routine (basic stretching). But at the time we were on a low colesteral diet(after dads heart attack) and we were drinking diet soda and I lost like 15 pounds without even really trying.lol.doesn't work so quick now. :bawling:
