Party ideas

Just looking for ideas for a 40th birthday party. I'm thinking of gathering at a restaurant, or renting the club room at my apratment complex.

Yours? I think the first thing to decide is budget and how many?
We rented out a bowling alley for my dh's. Mine, we had karioke (sp?).

Nope, mine was in December - went to New Orleans. This is for dbf this summer. Budget...I'd like it to be nice. How many? Maybe 30?

What kind of things does he like? Is there a special restaurant that he likes or club? Band? For my dh's 50th we were going to have a casino party, but changed it to a Rose bowl party instead. We didn't want the standing around drinking/chatting party so that's why we had activities.

What kind of activities did you have at the Rose Bowl party?

If we use the clubhouse there's a pool table and a big screen TV in there. We could also use the pool that way.

We watched the Rose bowl.....die hard Texas fans were only invited! LOL

Does he like beer ? You could use that as a theme and serve 40 different kinds of beer. Or any other food or beverage with variety
