That is so exciting! My ds is turning two next week. Did she enjoy her party??? How did she handle the crowd?
I hope her day was a blessing to all of you...
Your dh said you like scrapbooking. Me too.
Happy Birthday sweetie!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to your dd! You'll have to tell us all about the party. I've got two to plan for July. Trey will be 4 - I'm thinking of dinosaurs or pirates for that party. Brent will be 10 and I think he wants ice skating.

:bday: Happy birthday to your dd!! :bday: Hope your party goes well!!!
Donna - Our dks have bdays within a month of each other, too, so I will be busy planning another party in a couple weeks. I considered having one party for the both of them this year, but I thought ds would want his own. It would have been easier! :)

Just don't make the mistake I did last year. I had both parties on the same day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We really weren't up for the afternoon one!

Thank you for your well wishes!! It was a great day. I didn't really have a theme. I served sandwiches (cold cuts and chicken salad), potato salad, strawberries, pasta salad, seafood dip, nacho dip....My mom made the cake that has barbie in it and the cake part looks like her skirt. It was beautiful!! The day was perfect and all the kids and adults were in and out of the house. We had two small pools set up on the deck for the kids to wade in. We had 13 adults and 14 kids, everyone stayed from about 12 - 6. For the gift bags as the kids left I gave them those "melamine" bowls. You know the ones with the characters on them? Scooby doo, barbie, etc. I filled them with candy and added a tag....thank you for coming to my party!
DD did very well. She got a little grumpy at times. The toughest time was bedtime. She was still bouncing off the walls at 10. When I did get her to hold still she fell right to sleep.
It didn't take long for me to get the house back together. Whew!!

Glad dd's b'day was a success. I like the idea of a 'no theme' party. A lot easier to plan for. The bowl idea was cute too!
give dd a b'day hug for us.

(I have no exact measurements for this one, sorry!)
Cheese tortillini cooked and cooled
fresh corn cut off the cob
fresh diced tomatoes
(onions if you want)
mix above together and toss with...
olive oil
seasoned rice vinegar
garlic powder
parsley
sugar
About 1/2 and 1/2 olive oil and vinegar. (be sure to use seasoned vinegar) A little bit of garlic powder, a little more parsley and the same amount of sugar as parsley.
SEAFOOD DIP
Cream cheese (throw a hunk on a plate)
****tail sauce (pour on top of the hunk)
crab meat (shred on top of it all)
Serve with club crackers and frito's are yummy with it too. I hope this one isn't too hard. lol
NACHO DIP
1 large package of velveeta
2 cans of diced tomatoes and green chilies (ro-tel)
1/2# ground beef
1/2# sausage (hot if you like it hot!)
Brown and drain beef and sausage, drain. Place all ingredients in the crock pot and heat it up. You can omit the meat if you want.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Angie...those sound great!!!
I do your crab dip with bay shrimp on top.
BTW..I was trying to be a good moderator and move the recipes to the recipe section, but I moved the whole thread instead!!!! LOL And since I am not moderator of the recipe section I can't move it back!!!!!!!!!!! Hope this doesn't confuse everyone!!!
YUM!! I have been on a diet way too long! When rich food sounds good to me at 7:30 in the morning, its time for a Big Mac! LOL
