I'm not clear on why they are postponing his execution. I know it's to review investigative files that weren't originally given to his lawyers, but I read that the documents did not create any doubt about his guilt. He admitted that he did it. He waved his right to appeal. But now his lawyers say that he may challenge the death penalty imposed on him.

The relatives of his victims must be really frustrated.

By law the prosecution must turn over all evidence.. called discovery..to the defendants attorneys. While the prosecution is saying that the evidence that was withheld wouldn't really change the verdict..you really don't know. And it could stand for an arguement for appeal..and they could win.
I can't believe that our government attorneys would do something so stupid..that's a first year attorney's mistake!

If I remember this right.....There were like 5000 documents not turned over. I am glad it was postponed until school is out. Everyone I know was planning on keeping their kids home from school that day.

Hey Mick....now don't quote me on this because I was only half listening to the radio when they were talking about McVeigh, but.....apparently McVeigh didn't like the gvnment and those who worked for it (hence the reason for his target), and they feel that he is now enjoying that the government has screwed up and wants to make sure everyone knows about it.

I feel terrible for the families too!
