I want a good vacuum cleaner! One that will suck up my dog if I'm not very careful! ;) LOL!

I bought a Fantom Cyclone a year (or two?) ago and it is honestly a total piece of junk. It would overheat and I'd have to wait a while for it to turn back on so I could finish vacuuming. Then it finally died--it turns on, but doesn't suck anything up. Not sure if it's just a lemon, but at $300, I'm more than peed off over it.

So...any suggestions? Someone recommended Kenmore Quick Clean, but I had a Kenmore before and I couldn't get bags for it at the grocery store or Walmart--I had to go to Sears.

Anyone have a Hoover Windtunnel? I like the idea of bagless.

Help me!!!

I have a Kenmore bagless cyclonic system vacuum. I like it pretty well but sometimes it gets clogged so I kind of stre-e-etch the tube while its on to get the clog loosened. It also has an air filter on it and another filter for the dust going in. Let me know if you want to know more...

Mickey,

I have a one year old neice that I could send over. She'll suck up anything. Even the stuff you didn't see.

Actually I bought a great bagless vacumn last year...it's a Eureka True Hepa...Whirlwind...whatever all that means...anyway..no bags and it is really great.
(course it's my first real vacumn..I've always had hand-me- downs)
Got it at K-mart. Now it doesn't go banging the dirt out of the floor with special hammers and brushes but..I have very muddy kids and it does the trick.

Gee, I am postin like a mad woman these last two days. My house is empty and I had Friday off. It won't last.

Wow! Thanks, guys!

Mandy (is that your real name, netmechwife?), I'm reading at the epinions site and one of the reviewers who didn't recommend the vacuum cleaner I have for the same reasons, said that the customer support people suggested she use a coat hanger to unclog the hose. I'll try pulling it out like you suggested first.

Ann, is this the one you have:

If Rosa insisted on it, it must be good! LOL!

Coulie, does your niece come with a warranty? LOL!
How long have you had your Eureka? I'm asking because I loved my Fantom for the first month or two. ;)

Thanks, again, guys! I really appreciate it!

PS...this is weird cause I know AnnW, netmachwife, and we are on right now....I just don't know how to use a chat feature or how to find out who else is on.

I find that most vacuums are the same, great at first but they don't suck like they first did after a while. Now I have one that stands up and is bagless and I cannot remember the name but it was great at first. It is still the best one I have had so far, the others were the low ones with the long hose. My mom had one like that for well over 20 years and it worked great right up until she moved to an appartment with hard wood floors. I think it was a singer.

Mine is actually the less expensive twinchamber model...
Rosa started working for a friend of mine and the next time she came to my house she said "you must get this vaccumn!!" LOL

I just love the vacuum cleaner I have! It is the Rainbow. The Rainbow doesn't use any bags but a water basin that all the gunk gets trapped in and you empty it after you finish cleaning. It has a carpet cleaning attachment and it takes all the dust and allergins out of the air. You know when the sun comes in through a window and you can see the dust in the room? Turn this baby on and it is gone. We bought it when ds was diagnosed with rsv. He doesn't have any asthma symptoms anymore. It also has a pet attachment you can brush your pet and suck all the hair and dander right out.

Anyway, it is great, but it does cost 1000-1500. My BIL just bought a Kirby G6 because they have something around 10 pets in the house. They are very comparable.

I don't sell these things, really!!

I've used the Rainbow vaccuum that Angie recommended and I loved it too! It's kinda scary when you dump the water and see what all was in your carpet though.

Wish I had a vacuum like that. If you have the money that really sounds like the way to go...

Yippeee! I used a clothes hanger and pulled out tons of lint and dirt from my vacuum and it works again!!! :)

Thanks again for all the recommendations, guys! I will definitely keep them on file!
