Just thought i would share...

Just thought i would share this idea with you. Last night was a quiet one for me so I went and checked my piggy bank and rolled the coins. (Yes I have a piggy bank!) The total came to $392.00. I deposited it today and will use this for an up coming trip.
I actually use a large glass bowl and everyday deposit all coins into the bowl. I encourage my husband to do the same. Over time the bowl gets filled and about 4 times a year I take the time to roll the coins and use the money collected on a special treat, trip spending money, or decorating accessory for the home. It always amazes me the amount collected over the course of a few months. This system is really great at holiday times when you want to buy something really special for yourself, i dip into the bowl and every christmas have enough for a new coat, or a great pair of boots or a fabulous new dress.
I thought I would share this idea as i have several friends who now do the piggy bank thing and get great pleasure in splurging once in a while.
Time to treat your self for a change with the change you have in your purse!

Toby, neat you do that... my problem is I dip into it and spend on the kids, lunch out, new movie, ya know the things ya get for grandkids when they start the hinting thingy with ya .. :roll:
I think I'm back down to maybe 3 bucks in there now .. seems it never gets to the bank for me .. :jester: :roll:

My husband does that and that's what he buys my Christmas present with!

I keep the money jar too but it's for the kids if they go to the dollar store, popcorn day at school, book fairs, that kind of thing. Or we use it if there is someone selling cookies door to door.

I do this too...I call it my future house account.....but I've been hitting it up for quarter for laundry....LOL

We have a small bowl on the dresser in our bedroom that we dump change into.
It sure does add up!

I keep telling dh that he is taking me on a cruise, hoping to add our change to that plan!
