I couldn't sleep after all three of our kids ended up in our bed! I am going to watch a bible study dvd and then get the kids up.
Brichard and I are going to run errands today and eat out. My brother and his wife are coming over for a late dinner.
Have a great day all!
Angie - how cozy! I remember the days, although it has been many years since we've had a kid come cuddle up in our bed.
Up for morning gymnastics, then spend the day with dgd, a few more hours back in the gym and then we head to the city for a weekend of competition. I so excited to leave today, it's been a long few weeks since we've been on the road and am looking forward to relaxing in a hot tub tonight!
Enjoy your day and weekend all!
Grocery shopping! Yippee, skippy! Mom volunteered to keep the kids tonight so dh and I can go out (not sure why since dd usually holds down the fort just fine), but I have no clue where we're going. I swear it's against all rules of our nature to actually plan something ahead of time! That's the long and short of my day, other than relaxing and reading a book. Maybe a nap? ;)
Angie, I wouldn't be able to sleep either, lol! Especially since three out of our four usually manage to sleep sideways in the bed!
Fern, enjoy your competition this weekend, and good luck to all!
Fern, good luck this weekend and enjoy the hot tub.
Pam, enjoy your night out with your dh.
Angie, enjoy eating out with your dh and enjoy your company tonight.
Work today. Woke to yet another dusting of snow this a.m. and more expected over the weekend. I want SPRING, darnit!!! :bawling:

Taking ds to the doctor and then coming home to pamper him some more. That's my day. Poor guy is worried he's going to miss Disney on Ice tomorrow. :\
Angie, enjoy your company.
Fern, good luck this weekend at the competition.
Pam, enjoy your night out!
Bev, I so hear ya. Here's to hoping it goes out like a lamb.

Morning! Up way too early. Stayed up talking to dad on the phone until 1 am.....Man he's such a night owl. Always has been.
Not much planned....need to go to the food store at some point. watching the snow and thinking....why didn't I do it yesterday....although it isn't supposed to be much snow.
Anyway...have a good day!

Ugh... I was "suppose" to have the day off today except the mom to my 3 called late last night telling me she changed her mind and she'd be bringing them in the morning and picking them up after lunch some time because she still needed to pack and didn't think she'd be able to do it with her 2 (the other one is in school) home, so there went my plans. I hate to b!tch, but when/if someone tells me they're not coming and that I've got the day off... I wish they'd keep it that way and not change their minds. I "was" going to meet a friend for lunch, which is something I never get to do... but I ended up having to cancel. Not really a happy camper. :(
Not much else planned, maybe a load of laundry. Out tonight with dh. Probably going to Don Pablo's and then to SAM'S to pick up a few things then home to sit/relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.
Angie... Enjoy your company.
Fern... Good luck this weekend at the competition, and enjoy that hot tub. :)
Pam... Enjoy your night out!
Bev... At least it was only a dusting and not a bunch. LOL I'm right there next you waiting for spring to come. Can't wait.
Melody... Hope your ds gets better real quick and he doesn't have to miss Disney on Ice. Let us know what you find out at the doctors.
Hope you all have a great day!
Diane...

I've just decided....I'm going back to bed....seeya all later.
Up and almost ready to go. I need to get the laundry off the couch and put away before dck's start arriving. Dd's having her b-day party (her b-day is Sun) tonight at the bowling alley and then having one friend spend the night. Ds has a b-day party to go to at 11 tomorrow and dh has to work. I'll be a little busy!
Got measured at Curves last night and I have lost 8.5 inches for far and 2.5 lbs. I lost a few pounds last month, then gained a few back this month, but continued to loose inches. I can't tell at all, but it's good to know those inches are going away. :)
Diane- you shouldn't have answered the phone! ;)
Fern-good luck this weekend and enjoy the hot tub!
Pam-have fun going out tonight
Mel-hope ds is feeling better soon
Angie-I remember those nights
Bev-I'd send you our heat, because I feel like I'm dying... and I know the real heat hasn't yet begun.
Good night Vea

CONGRATULATIONS on loosing 8.5 inches, that's a LOT!! I hate when I loose then gain back... but at least you lost it again. LOL Keep it up!!
If I had seen it was her I probably wouldn't have answered it, but I stupidly answered it from a phone that didn't have caller ID... It's not that I don't like the kids... they're VERY good, which is why I can't imagine why she feels she can't pack with them there. The 5 year old LOVES to sit/color and would do that for hours if you let her. Her 3 year old sister loves Barney and would probably love to sit and watch a Barney movie, or build with building blocks. That and... she could have done it after they went to bed last night. Anyway... I can sit and wonder why and stew about it, but they're here and there is nothing I can do about it so.... I'm sure I'll live. LOL :biglaugh:

When my boys were little I would take them in for regular check ups and immunizations and they would often have ear infection. They weren't running fevers, didn't complain of ear aches, and didn't act sick at all. I felt like an awful mom for not knowing, but there really was no way for me to know!!
Diane, I feel for you! Last Friday I had my last 2 kids walk out the door at 5. Another car pulled in and dropped off 2 kids. I said I was already done, but the brother that dropped the girls off just said that their mom would be off work at 6. He urged the girls out of the car and pulled away before I could tell him "No, I'm closed for the day!" He didn't bother to call to tell me he was bringing them nor did he tell his mom that he dropped them off! She called me at 7 (after I'd tried calling her and she didn't answer) wondering if her girls were there! I gave her a piece of my mind. Her son is 23 years old and is a bum. He doesn't work and is very irresponsible. UGH!!
Fern, good luck with things this weekend!
Jak, Happy birthday to you dd!!
Pam, lucky you! How do you get someone to offer to take the kids?? I always had to ask, and at times, beg for someone to take my kids. Hope you had fun!
It's been a couple of super windy days here. Yesterday we had 60 mph wind gusts. Other people's trash was in my yard at the preschool, some of our balls and toys ended up in the neighbors yard, not to mention branches from the trees that came down. Today was a little better but still windy. I guess that's what we get for living in Nebraska.
No school today for Spring Break (aka vacation day in hopes that the boys make it to the state basketball tournament--which they didn't) We had most of a full house today. A mom brought her girls in this morning and said one had thrown up the night before, but she thought she had just ate too much. By 9 this little girl threw up. I called the mom and she asked "Was it real bad?" After I said "yeah" she said she'd come and get them. I just can't imagine how a child could throw up and it not be real bad??? The child is almost 3, she doesn't spit up anymore for pete's sake!! '
Turned out to be a fairly busy day. Except for one girl that likes to create trouble, everyone got along pretty good.
No where I have to go tomorrow morning so I can sleep in.
Have a good night!!

Linda,
I would do the same thing. My oldest would get fluid build up in his middle ears (which is technically not an infection, but I've been told that that's splitting hairs). I would feel awful because then I'd remember all the times I'd been impatient with him for ignoring me, when really he just couldn't hear!!

They had a little blurp on the news last week about anti-biotics and ear infections. They said that they are now starting to discover, or wonder, if in some cases the anti-biotics do anything at all. Said that some doctors were now beginning to take the wait and see approach for some. Maybe for the kids who are not running fevers, complaining or are sick in other ways.
They said that they think that these kids would get over it on their own and we just thought the meds were doing something. Not sure how much stock I put in it, but it is interesting to think about how much we depend on anti-biotics instead of waiting a few days if there isn't any pain.
