Does anyone know anyone with endometriosis? Or doctors who specialize in it and are really good?

My sis dealt with it - although hers wasn't severe and she just dealt with it with her ob/gyn. I also had a friend who had it in high school and had surgery, but I don't know details. Sorry I'm not much help. :(

I was beginning to wonder if I had scared people with such a big word. I have talked to my ob/gyn. I have also done a LOT of research. I almost think I know more than he does.
I am trying to find a good doctor who specializes in it. I haven't had my laparoscopy yet to determine the extent or prove I have it. I heard they can do the surgery while they do the scope. If it's bad that's what I want. I just want to make sure I have a doc that knows what he is looking for. I am sure I have it. So does my mom and I think both my sisters.
My area has NO support groups. The closest ones were a few hours away and are no longer meeting. My sis' and mom know less about the disease than I do and aren't really trying to get help. My mom had a hysterectomy and tubes removed because of it. But she didn't know she had it until very late.
Is your sis doing ok? I know its really hard to deal with for the person and their friends and family...

It's difficult when one seems to be more informed about a problem than a doctor or when they don't seem as concerned about pursuing treatment. Is there another ob in your area to get a second opinion or could you ask yours for a referral? Hopefully you can get some answers/info soon!!!
My sis is actually doing well. They thought she had it when she was having problems conceiving and never did any actual testing that I know of. I think a lot was based on her symptoms and inability to conceive for a while?
Good luck!!

I don't think there are many in my area that deal with this issue. They know about it and have patients with it I assume but don't really do well with addressing it.
My dh said if I could find a specialist a few hours away he would be willing to take me. But I don't want to have to go to every doctor within 5 hours from here to find the one I want.
I'd like to find other women who have been to doctors for it and find out whether anyone else has found a really good one. I've heard there is a good one in Tennessee (i think or Georgia) and Oregon. But that's a little far...
I'm glad your sis is doing well. Was she able to conceive?

Does your dr know of any specialists? I really hope you can find someone near you - how frustrating. It would be nice to have a referral from someone so you don't have to go on a crazy search for one like you said. Good luck! Your dh sounds wonderful and very supportive - can make all the difference as one faces struggles!!

I'm so excited for her that she was able to have children. It would be very sad and hard not to. I'm sorry about her miscarriages though... That's so sad.
My sis had a miscarriage when I was expecting my second child. My heart just broke for her.
