I get to start a thread. I guess it's been a while.....
I can't sleep. My mind is racing. I had a teacher call in yesterday and since we are a little short on subs, I figured I'd spend a day in the classroom. I enjoyed it, but got nothing done that I was supposed to. My desk is covered with "stuff". Well, before I left for the day, she called me back and quit! Her ds is getting in some trouble at school and she needs time with him. I understand, but .... I have to come up with a solution quickly. Fortunately, it's a short week. I have to get through today and tomorrow. (We have a training day Thursday and Friday off.) Just cross your fingers for me. The lead teacher in that room is pretty much at her wits end.
Other than that, things are cruising along. Dd1 is home for the week. It's good to see her, and her sisters are glad to have Thurs and Fri off to spend with her. Can't believe the semester's almost over. She'll be out for the summer in less than 2 months.
It doesn't seem like the kind of Spring around here that some of you have, but the snow is melting a little every day. I finally saw grass in my front yard on Friday, for the first time since I think about Christmas. I'm ready for Summer. LOL

Took both kids to the doc yesterday, lungs and ears all clear, but dd is just not getting better. and now ds is firing up with croup too! gonna be a long week, i think.

I am babysitting today and thankfully everyone is healthy. The medicine I had knocked out the pink eye my little one picked up at church on Saturday. Whew!

I finally finished getting all the Easter goods I needed. I have a hard time stopping. I always think I should get something for this person or that. Now we are doing an egg hunt for the neighbor kids on Friday since we are out of school.

Ds goes to the children's hospital tomorrow. We preregister today.

I have to go to the town assessor's office and try and schmooze my property assessment down. It jumped $26,000 since last year's assessment. Once they lock you in, then the taxes are going to get crazy. heck, they already are crazy, but even worse. My sister is stopping by and we are going out to lunch and then I have to food shop. I am putting on a full course meal tonight! LOL

Ann, do any of the other kids get sick in this teacher's classroom or is it only your children? That just sounds too strange of a coincidence.

Work today. Don't know if my Dad's getting released today or not. Will have to call my sister later and see if she knows. I'm planning a roast beef dinner for tomorrow just in case. He's been eating lots of chicken in the hospital and he says they keep putting different sauces on it to hide that's it's chicken, lol. Either that he says, or they have eggs cooked all different ways. He says he's either eating the chicken or the egg. I love his sense of humour!!!

When ds started getting it in 5th grade a couple of other children did. Not sure now with dd. BUT, if it only happened to them in 5th grade and then went away once out of the classroom, it would be more telling. It is very odd though.

Another nice day today. I don't know for sure if I'm going to get my family of 3 today or not. The dad is a school bus driver and seeing there is no school, has the week off. :) I guess whether or not he keeps them depends upon how good they were yesterday when he kept them home. If they've been too active... he can't wait to bring them. (can't say I blame him... LOL) Keeping my fingers crossed for another quiet day.

Expecting Dawn/James and Sarah any minute. James' grandmother had a heart attack Monday morning and they're driving to Iowa today to see her. I guess she wanted to see Sarah (before she passed away) so they felt they should. They're borrowing dd #3's portable dvd player so Sarah can watch Baby Einstein on their way up. She doesn't like to sit for long periods of time... so it will be interesting to see how she does.

I had a rough night on the phone with my brothers/parents. Some lousy stuff came up and had a good talk with them (without getting through to some)and now I give up. I'm too tired to keep talking to a brick wall. I slept lousy and have a stress headache pressing on my head. I need to really stop thinking about things I cannot change. :banghead:
I got really tired yesterday and took a nap instead of sweeping and moping so I guess I have some work to try to catch up on today. Picking up dh after work so he can drop the truck off at a transmission place. Ds1 has basketball tonight. I need to get out for a walk later and clear my head. That's it here.

Not much going on today....It's going to be beautiful out....Think I'll finally change the bulbs on my car....I bought them a few weeks ago and just haven't done it...too cold. Yes I can do it my self...comes from always helping dad as a kid.

Ack! I'm setting up appointments with "problem" students for my boss. I hate doing that. They know exactly why you are calling and they give you a hard time to pin-point them down with a time, even though you say it has to be "tomorrow morning". Wish me luck!!!

Ds is going to an endocrinologist. It was funny today calling my MIL and mom and asking them their height, weight, when they started their period. rofl It was all part of family history on ds's pre-registery.

Brichard is in an American Idol contest at his company. He wrote a great song for it. :roll: I wish I could be there!

I got fired today!! :rolleyes: Seems they don't understand people being sick and having kids who get sick! They only allow a few hours of unpaid time off during the first 90 days and I missed too much. Oh well. At least I can get well now. I'm on my 2nd round of meds, dd and df are on their first round, with hopefully no need for a second. I feel like poop! Someone replaced my tonsils with lemons!!!
Found out my bf from CAN is going to be able to make it to the wedding :yippee: :happydnc: I'm so happy!!! She didn't think it would be possible with moving the date up, but she's going to swing it... she's coming alone, though, but she's getting a nice 4-day beach trip to rest and relax, very glad for her, but I told df I want to wait to leave for the honeymoon when she has to leave!!! (he wasn't thrilled that I mentioned that :lol: !!!) kidding (but I do wish we'd have at least a full day to spend together just laying on the beach!)

Yeah, talk about irony!!! Oh well, I'm hardly broken up about it... it was a paycheck, I knew I wouldn't be there for any long amount of time. Going to wait until after the wedding, but if I get over all this mess this week, I might try to find a waitressing job for some extra $$ until then... we'll see!
