My old boss called and told me that I could have thursday's and fridays if I want it and I may be able to get 5 days if the women gets the job she;s applying for. I just don't know ifIwant full time....One I don't know ifI'm ready for it.....Two- It screws up my state benifits which will get screwed up in july....But I'll get it all straighten out then it gets changed again.
Well anyway I start off with two days so I've got some time to think....Oh and I also got the preschool room if I want it....
Justventing sodon'tfeel obligated to give opinions....but I will take advice if offered....LOL

Start slow with the Thursdays and Fridays...it sounds perfect for you. Once you're there for those days, you may realize that you're more ready than you think for the full time position. What would the hours be?? You love working at that center, right? It was a good fit for you...and the preschoolers are the age that you prefer.
What are your reasons for not wanting full time work? If the job isn't too physically demandiing (lifting...carrying...etc), would it be okay? The smiles and hugs you'll receive daily from the little ones would be an excellent perk. Plus, you know the expectations, and the work environment is a familiar one. You don't have to work weekends, or evenings. You get to sing everyday...read great stories...hear all of the funny things kids say...and be a really important person in their lives. Can you tell it's my passion?!

I agree with Mary. Start with those two days and you may decide you want to go full time. Have fun and congrats on that call. :)
What kind of state benefits are you getting that would be screwed up? (if you don't mind me asking...) Can you start out with the 2 days w/o messing up the state benefits?
I'd start off w/ the preschoolers for the 2 days a week and see how it goes from there. If I remember correctly you didn't just leave because you got hurt, you were having some issues that you weren't too happy about, right? Five days a week there may turn out to bring all those old problems back.

Thanks for the imput....
Jak ~ part of it was that I got hurt....but I was stressed out with some of the Politics....like that one women who has the learning disability who I did not want to be responsible for...who also atthis point has also been hurting herself....and that's why I got the call.
I think what I'll do is I'll start with the two days and then if I want more I'll take it.
And I guess no matter what the state is going to get screwed up...I'm On SSI and they never get it straight what I should get....then they over pay me and then I find out months later that I have to pay it back. Oh well. It's not the money I'm worried about, except paing it back once it's already spent....It's making sure I don't loss my medical.
I'm just stressing over nothing.....it's only a few months right?

I'd say the two days a week sound perfect. It will look good on your resume as well when you decide to get full time work.

Good idea to ease into it, vea. Glad they are giving you that flexibility. Good luck!!
