After the officiate has performed the marriage ceremony and had us kiss, we're adding a few words to say to Reece. I can't get it to sound just right... tell me what you think! TIA
In addition to the vows of marriage, Amy and Terry have asked to make a vow to Reece (have Reece stand between us).
AMY - We have pledged our love to each other and promised to always be faithful to one another. Now, we want to add another, different kind of vow that is just as special. We love and cherish you and want you to know that you are as an important part to this union as Terry and I are.
TERRY - By becoming your father, I promise to love you forever and will treat you as if you were my own. I gladly accept the obligations and privileges that accompany this vow I am making to you.
CHERYL - Today, we are celebrating the union of Amy, Terry and Reece becoming a family, it is my pleasure and honor to introduce to you, Mr & Mrs Barnes and their daughter, Reece.
edited to add another sentence to my part!!
Oh Amy, that is so precious! I think it sounds perfect, doesn't need any alterations. Reading that made my skin tingle and my eyes mist over <sniff>. Just BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thanks, Kate! I'm glad to have some input! Couldn't tell if it sounded okay or not! Df is reading it now, he wasn't here earlier to give me feedback earlier!! Thanks again!

I love the vows...I just think I'd change the wording of this part: "...treat you as if you were my own". How 'bout something like this:
You are now (or will soon be?) my daughter legally and officially, but you've been my daughter in my heart for the past two years (or however long). I promise to love you forever and always be here for you. I gladly accept the obligations and feel privileged to have such a loving, sweet girl for my daughter.
Maybe Reece could then vow to love and respect Terry?
Very sweet to incorporate this into the wedding--becoming a family!

!
I love Mickey's change. I would change your part and the ministers to something like this....
Officiate (is that Cheryl????) Amy and Terry you stand not only in front of this congregation uniting in marriage, but uniting a family.
Amy - Reece, today Terry and I pledged are love to one another as husband and wife. You are an important part of our life. I promise, as your mommy, to always love and cherish you no matter what. You are and always will be my little girl.
then go on with the rest.....
one thing our adoption judge did that was so cool was to say "today I declare you a family".......maybe have Cheryl say
Amy, Terry, Reece....today I delcare you a family. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce Mr & Mrs Barnes and their daughter, Reece.

Ooooh!! Good changes Ann! I like that a lot!!! Thanks, dah-ling!!!
You're welcome.
Or even........"Now with the power invested in me, by God and the state of whoever, I pronounce you a family. What God has joined together, let no man seperate.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Let me introduce........"

I love what everyone has come up with so far. I don't have anything to add for wording.
When my brother got married a couple years ago they did a little something with the kids during the ceromony too. They had a boy (her first before db) and a girl. The adoption is going to be finalized in the next month or so for db and then my nephew can finally take on db's name legally. (Lots of paper work and trying to contact the bio father, he recieved the papers saying what was going to happen and never replied) During the ceromony db and nephew exchanged a gold chain and I think they gave my niece a necklace too. They exchanged a few words and it unified them all as a family. Was nice.

That's sweet, Melody! Glad it's all working out! We have a ring to give dd after we say our vows to her. Once we get back, we'll start the adoption process, so exciting!!!

LOL Diane! I know the feeling! I'm going to have a hard time making it through that part! Not that I won't be sentimental during the wedding vows, but that's exciting... if that makes sense... the vows to dd are so much more personal! I may sound like an idiot for saying that way! I wouldn't put it past me to get misty-eyed during our vows, too... just hope there's room in my bouquet to stuff some Kleenex (it might look weird if I were to pull them from the front of my dress!! (OMG she stuffs!! ROFL)
How very sweet! Love the input from Mickey and Ann. Really love the declaration of family that Ann suggested.
Still haven't got my "official" invite???????
