Just heard on the news. Did not realize when her "husband" was in the room the family was not allowed, and vice versa. Wondering if they were there in time or not.
Maybe everyone now can get some peace.

It was all so sad. I hope her parents can rest knowing she isn't suffering at all now.

Just posted on the other thread... :( This is so sad... and I can't believe he wouldn't let her family (those who REALLY loved and cared about her) to be in her room with her during her final moments. What goes around comes around... hope in the end he suffers for what he's done.

How sad...
May Terri Shiavo rest in peace. She is resting with the angels now.
Her husband is risking his afterlife barring the family during the vigil process and not having her have a Roman Catholic funeral.
What in the world is he thinking. He is supposed to be a catholic and understand the catachism, but refuses to santify Terry Shiavo's remains.
Its just appalling, truly truly truly appalling to fight over a person's remains.
My questions is does the church have a legal right to interside on behalf of the family as Terry Shiavo is a registered Roman Catholic, (baptised, confined, recieved communion, and reconcilliaction). I can see a legal arguement to at least let her be buried in accordance to Cannon Law, as she have been a practicing catholic. Her husband better get ready for more legal battles as the Roman Catholic Church should and could show some muscle.
My other question is who has duristiction as to the human soul? Certianly not her husband in this case as he is going against everything the Catholic church believes in to properly prepare the soul's journey to heaven.
Did Terry Shiavo recieve last rights? Another legal battle for the family to consider as it is a person's right to recieve or not recieve last rights hear in Canada?
Sad , tragic beyond comprehension. May she finally rest in peace.

extremely unlikely in my opinion, as the Church has no legal standing

God has jurisdiction, and His mercy endures forever.

She did receive last rites last week according to my newspaper. It probably wasn't the first time that she received the sacrament of Annointing of the Sick.
And I agree with you!
Amen.

I also think she took communion through her feeding tube right before they pulled it.
The whole thing from beginning to end is/was very sad. I hope she rests in peace.

That's incorrect. Catholics do allow cremation. Here's a link to information:

For some reason, many people are misinformed about this.
I'm not going to comment on anything else with regard to this...I'm not privy to the information needed to draw a conclusion and judge anyone--I'll leave that up to God.
I wasn't at the hospital when she died, just as I don't know the details of her life before and after her heart failure 15 years ago, nor do I know the many, many things that have transpired between family members in that time. I don't know her medical history either--just contradicting blurbs of pieces of it in the news. With regard to every detail of this case, there are two very different views.
What a horrendously sad thing to have happened. May she rest in peace.

It will be interesting to see what information they get from her autopsy. We are all learning alot through this.

I think... they can take apart the brain and see what parts really were damaged by the heart attack that deprived her brain of oxygen for 5 minutes. They can tell if she had any brain functions left. If there really was any of Terri left in there. I hope they find nothing so that her parents can find peace.
