And it's pouring rain again. Ds2 didn't go to sleep well and was up in the night, feeling pretty warm and had a headache. He's home and ds1 is gone to school already. Dh went to visit his dad for the day and won't be home until tonight. I hope he remembers to pick up some stuff from his sister for me. I don't want this stuff back after the yard sale and she doesn't want/need it any more.
Ds1 has a dentist appt. today, just x-rays to make sure that what they did last time is working.
Hope you all have a good day. :)

Ahhh my day off. Laundry is going, dishes are going, and I've got to get going. Need to stop by nursery school, then go exchange the tights I bought for dd's recital.

I want to get some flowers for the yard and my pots but am not sure what I want. Guess it'll be fun just looking.

Not much on the agenda today. Looks like another cold/rainy day today. I'm SO sick of it being so gray and gloomy. Hope it clears up by the weekend.

I won't be getting any kids in until at least 2:00 today... I haven't got a clue what I'm going to do with all this extra time. House is clean... laundry is all done. I was thinking about going to Kohl's to see if they've got anything new there, if not maybe Fashion Bug. I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm hoping to find something to wear to dh's cousin's surprise 50th birthday party. I want something dressy... but not too dressy. If I don't find anything it's okay, I know I've got things I could wear, but I guess I'm just in the mood for something new/different. I get kind of sick of wearing the same ol things. LOL

I've also got to get my behinder out and start looking for a mother of the bride dress for dd's wedding. I'm not going to wait until the last minute like I did with dd #1's wedding, and I ended up just getting what was there. I didn't think it was dressy enough and would like to do better this time. LOL Will probably have to start looking for that next weekend.

Hope you all have a good day. Take care...

The girls are here early this morning. I love it when it's just me and them. They are such great kids. Even though the baby is teething (getting her 4 top teeth) she's still a doll. My family is coming home tonight sometime and I have a dc meeting. I'm making chili in the crock pot so they will have something to eat if they get home while I'm gone. I'm not looking forward to this training, in fact I think it will be boring but I have to get at least 2 training hours a month. This class and the one I went to last week were my only options this month. Next month I think I'll look for something down town.

Morning!

Getting ready for work....Just jumped on to check emails. MY back is killing me. I really hope she hires this girl...I love being there....just can't do the hours I've been doing.

It's raining so we'll probably be inside today....hopefully it'll be a great fun day.

Have a great one!

Jen, when you make chili in the crock pot, do you brown your meat in a pan first? All recipes I have found for anything containing ground beef said to do that and I'm not sure if it's because the meat won't cook properly or if it would come out in one big lump or what. I'm only assuming your putting gr. beef in yours because that is just the way my mind works, most meals revolve around cows right? LOL

I do brown the meat first, but I use ground turkey. I only use gr beef for meatloaf and burgers. Other than that I only use gr turkey.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if it was just the recipes I was looking at or if there was reason to brown the meat first. Guess it wouldn't cook right or become a lump. I never think of gr. turkey but I should.

Adding my two cents here: One reason to brown it first is so you can drain the fat off, instead of having it in your meal. Yuck. Using ground turkey though, there is little to no grease.

The parents of one of my son's good friends are both psych nurses at the mental health hospital (where I volunteer). One is a head nurse.

Hope you enjoyed your brew!
