I preferred the music of Bo (my generation! LOL) but I thought Carrie was a better singer. I would have been happy either way.

I like Bo more but was happy for Carrie to win. She's just so sweet, I would have hated to see her lose. Not that Bo isn't a nice guy, I'm sure, but you just want every dream Carrie has to come true when you see her. LOL Like saying no to a young child in a candy store.

I watched very few episodes this season, but I remember Carrie from her audition and I thought she was great then. I'm glad she won. They will both make a lot of $ I'm sure as they can both sing.

Clive and Randy had already told Bo that they wanted to record with him. In that I am glad that Carrie won. It kind of feels like the Clay/Rueben pair in that Rueben won but Clay is having a better career.

I'm happy for Carrie, but I wanted BO to win.
He is the only person I've seen on American Idol (all seasons) that I thought to myself .. I will buy his CDs I do like Kelly Clarkson, but I love Bo's voice. *sigh* at least I've recorded his performances these past few weeks.
so I can watch them while I wait for his Cds to come out.

I know he isn't singing Christian music, but Bo really reminds me of the lead singer of third day. A real rich, booming voice is nice to hear. I just like the fact that he sang some rock and roll. I'm sick to death of hip/hop and rap... it just isn't my thing. And, I've never been a tremendous fan of garden variety pop, which is what most idols tend to sing.

I don't think Carrie was bad, but all the finalists seemed so vanilla to me. Only Constantine, Scott (Sandovall?,) and Bo really seemed different to me. I know Scott was kind of geeky, but that is what made it an interesting story. I never thought Constantine could sing all that well, but he obviously was a good show man. And hey, lots of famous singers can't sing all that well. (Dylan, Petty, Hendrix, etc.)

I have a funny for you though. I went to www.bobice.com just to see if he had it marked yet. It belongs to an old realtor named Bob Ice!! LOL How funny is that! I bet he is wondering what in the heck is going on! :)

What I'm saying is... showmanship is king in the end. Some of the best vocalist of all time will never be seen on stage b/c they don't have that "sizzle" that others do. I mean, can you see Mick Jagger doing Sinatra songs? Clearly Frank has the better voice, but Mick is as masterful on stage as anybody.

Yeah, I agree that Bo has the total package. That is why I thought he would win. They all can sing, and many of them can perform. Bo rolled the extra trait of being unique into the mix, so I thought that would push him over the top.

And by the way... I like Dylan, Petty, etc., but I acknowledge their limitations in the singing department. I also like Sinatra! And Sinatra was probably a poor person to use in my analogy b/c he was such a wonderful performer as well as a great singer.

Anyway, I hope somebody gets what I mean. LOL!

Willie Nelson was singing on the radio the other day (we listen to country) and dh and I started talking about what a bad singer he was and how he probably wouldn't have made it past the auditions on American Idol... but we own at least 2 of his cd's. LOL

I like Bo... I think he's got a great voice... but I don't care much for rock music and I probably wouldn't buy his cd unless he was singing the same kind of songs he sang on AI. I voted for Carrie and was glad that she won... but I have a feeling that we'll probably be hearing more about Bo Bice than Carrie Underwood. I'm happy for both of them and hope they both become successful.

I get it. LOL I love Sinatra too. Every once in a while we will just hit random on a bunch of his cd's and play. The kids always seem to crack up during The Lady is a Tramp because of the term 'crap games'. :rolleyes: LOL
I do like Dylan a lot. I will listen to Petty but was never a big fan. I thought everyone else thought he was just so great though.
