View Full Version : Baby Books
just came across the dks baby books, :bigcry: I have been so bad at keeping up on them the last 6 months or so..... :bawling: I was reading them, and I was so detailed in the beginning, NOW I am a bad mommy..... :banghead: how often do you go to your kids books and fill them in, am I the only one who needs a kick in the butt. I feel really bad about it..... :(
guess I should spend more time writing about thier accomplishments than typing away here......NAAAAA

I can't keep up either. I'm even a CM Consultant... Pretty sad. Once you sit down and start it's easy though... You're not a bad mommy, just a busy one i'm sure...:)

I have been slacking big time, too and I hate that!! :( I was SO detailed with ds #1 and have just not done as well with the youngest. I keep thinking when we move and get settled in I'll catch up, but it's something I think about all of the time. I do try to jot things down on a piece of paper to add to their books when I get a chance.

Oh man, I'm pathetic! I have nothing in the boys books but their names, birthdates, etc. I mean absolutely nothing else! I tried but would always forget to write in stuff when they were small and just never started it again. I think the books are great and cute but unless I came across them, I probably wouldn't even realize I had them. Bad mommy, I know. :(
We're BUSY mommies!
I know, my kids' books are not caught up either. My oldest dd's is in decent shape, my ds is so-so, and the youngest...oops! I do keep stuff though and put it in each of their boxes. I keep a box for each child (under my bed) and put special stuff there for "someday".

I get my son's book out every few months and update some things. For some of the headings/things in the book I know I will never fill in I cover up with a sticker (from the scrapbook store -- like a stork, footprint sticker, blocks, etc) or a photograph. I feel much better seeing something in the book instead of blank pages!
Even easier...I bought a plastic tub at Walmart that I just fill up with his things -- cards/crafts he makes at school, valentines, birthday cards, his hat he wore home from the hospital, his first "things"...I try to date them somewhere on the back.
I am terrible..ds has a beautiful baby book that stops when he is 4 (guess what age he was when dd came along??? LOL)
DD's has her first week...........
BUT, I do have everything in a box and when they grow up, I am going to give it to them and THEY can organize it!!!! LOL

dd's is very detailed.
ds filled so far but much less detailed. Some things were filled in from memory, several months later.
with three more to work on, do you think it's possible to start before they even arrive.
Both dd and ds books only covered the first year, so it wasn't so bad. I have been putting together scrap books for each of them over the years. I hope to keep adding to them and give it to them as univerisity/college grad gifts.

I'm pretty good about the baby books...I love to look through them, and that encourages me to write stuff in the spaces. I only have 2 kids though...more than that and I probably wouldn't be as inspired to keep it up!!
