I finally have time to sit down and post. Everyone is out of the house and the fax is quiet :yipeee:

Today is our fireman's carnival and parade. It goes right past our street, so our cul de sac has premium seating. LOL It is a huge to do around here.

Dh is helping on the roof next door but will be done before lunch. Not sure what we are doing today, maybe just hangin' around the backyard and the kids in the pool. I can't wait for next weekend to go see fil. I haven't seen him since he was in/out of the hospital but with everyone having a touch of the cold I didn't dare go. I should be organzing some stuff in ds's bedroom but it's far to nice outside. lol I'll save it for a rainy day.
Hope you all have a great day :)

I sat down last night to begin writing my essays for my application for funding of National Board Certification. It took me 3 hours to write contextual responses to the first 2 questions. I had very limited space so I had to be quite clear and concise while still providing substatial evidence. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to rewrite the things. It kept my mind off my other troubles though and once I got into it, it was a quite rewarding process for me.

This morning I spent about an hour jotting down points I want to make in the body of my first essay. Dh got up about 9 after a pretty sleepless night and he and ds have gone to the squash patch to pick their firstfruits this season. That will serve to keep dh's mind occupied for a while this morning.

I've been washing curtains and cleaning windows this morning. Took a break to come here and now I need to get them all rehung. May wait till dh is back so I'll have an extra pair of hands.

Dh and his brother and nephew have gone fishing on Lake Ontario. I took ds to his early morning football game and now I'm doing laundry and catching up here. Have to get out and get the primer and paint for the kitchen later today. Should also get some paper and ink for the printer.

Another rainy day, yuck, yuck, yuck!!!!!

DH totally schocked me this morning with a very sappy birthday card(not usually his style) and an anniversary card as well,(he usually teases we only celebrate one or the other) both with gift certificates to the salon in town, hmmm to save them for haircuts or go for a pedicure and manicure, such decisions.

Dd#2 and Ds gave me very nice new charms to add to my bracelet. Some days this family really surprises me!

No real plans for the day, we are going to the city tomorrow for some gym stuff , so will take dh out for a nice anniversary supper, a day late but more nice restaurants to choose from in the city.

I got home from the conference about 2:30 and went to pick up dks. I am tired but revitalized at the same time. Brichard will be home about 7. I missed him so!

Have a great evening!

Happy birthday and anniversary, Fern! :)

I slept in till almost 10:00 this morning! 8o I must've needed it, lol. Haven't done much of anything today. Mom had a new recipe for a pasta salad with cucumbers and onion, etc., so I made that to go with dinner tonight. Not sure how well it "matches" because we're having a chicken/tortilla casserole and Ranch Beans, but we'll see.

I've been alternating watching Lord of the Rings with reading. I'm bored out of my gourd, lol! Maybe dh and I will play some card games later tonight. Beats watching more tv, lol!

Evening all. Did a bunch of house cleaning today and then went to town with my mom for a bit. Bought what I thought was going to be a really nice pair of summer slipon sandles, but when I got them home and "wore" them, they are awful. Definately taking them back.

Keeping an eye on the river too. It was down this morning, but is back up this evening. Guess the kids will be able to canoe again tomorrow.
I work all day tomorrow, so hopefully it won't rain anymore (but it is forcast to) and make the river rise more.

One of dd's friends called way too early for a Saturday, so think I am heading to bed after I get caught up here.

:)
