View Full Version : Happy Saturday!
Good morning! The sun is shining and it's a gloriously hot day. Laundry today, some dusting. Hoping to get my car vacuumed and the mats washed. Have a wedding this afternoon. Leaving 6:00 a.m. tomorrow for our vacation.

Morning!
I was just going to say...What no saturday thread then I refreshed the page before I stated one....LOL
Not sure if the day holds anything.....Tonight one of dbf's friends is coming over....not sure if his wife will come. I doubt it.
It looks nice outside...It poured for about an hour last night so maybe the humidity has dropped.

Not sure what is up today. I hope to get the van cleaned out/vaccumed. A few things around the house. Hope you all have a good one :)
Bev, have fun at the wedding. We don't know anyone getting married this summer, always seems weird to have a summer and no wedding to attend. lol
Not much happening today. Dh called mid-morning yesterday and wanted to take the kids to a movie and waterpark in Tucson. That was a bit of a shock, but the kids were thrilled! :D We ended up leaving the park an hour early because of a power outage and lightening, but it was still a lot of fun. We should do spur of the moment stuff like that more often.
Next week is VBS at church and I get the nice, cushy job of working in the nursery. :) The rest of the classes are either outside or in our CE building which doesn't have A/C (only swamp cooling), so this should be a piece of cake.
Fern and Diane, how did you end up getting your hair cut? Do you like it?
Congrats on the job, Ann! :yippee:
Jen, keeping my fingers crossed that your weekend w/the little one (or should I say the mom?) goes okay. :)

Morning! Excercised and have laundry going.
Dress shopping last night was a disaster. Needless to say, the TaeBo tapes are back out and the South Beach diet book is back out. LOL Ugh. Oh well, no one to blame but m'self.
Mel, you can come to our nephew's black tie wedding. lol
We're headed out again today to look at clothes. Dh has a dark suit, but needs a tie.
Bev, enjoy the wedding and happy vacationing!!

I'm convinced the lighting and mirrors in those dressing rooms are designed to makes us look bad!! I'm dieting myself. Kinda. Sorta. When I start working again it'll be easier.
I had to look up what "black tie invited" means. I went to a Christmas party once that was "****tail casual". I had no idea on that one - way over dressed!

I see. Will you be watching baseball, too? Maybe you two could do somehting else.
Slept in this morning, which felt really nice.
Have just finished folding a large pile of laundry, plus all the socks that just keep being left in the bottom of the basket, thru out all the ones that have been in there for a long time without a match(of course the missing one will show up now).
Have to go downtown this afternoon for birthday wrapping paper and also to see if I can get one of my friendly store owners to dig into their storage room and find me some christmas wrapping. SIL is coming next week and will be dropping off her christmas presents, she hates mailing or busing them and since we get to see her this year she is delivering. I prefer to wait and shop in November or December, but I found things for them early this year and I want to schock her and let her take their presents back with them!

Thanks for asking Pam, I got it cut real short on the sides and a little longer on the top, I think the longest hair is about an inch and a half! I love it!

I woke up early and went for my walk. It's a good thing I did... we had a bad storm shortly after I got back. I'm hoping if it's going to rain it does it all day today and not tomorrow when I'm having my picnic. We haven't had a lot of rain in months... and now it decides to rain. That's just my luck. LOL
Working on the laundry I didn't get done yesterday... gotta go do some quick grocery shopping, then back home to hopefully sit/relax. Not a whole heck of a lot else going on... could call it boring I guess. LOL
Hope you're all having a good day.

I got mine cut a little shorter than I usually do, more layered.
Fern... your hair sounds exactly like what I wanted, but didn't get. I looked and looked for a picture to bring to show her how I wanted it but I couldn't find one. :( She pretty much evened mine so it was all the same length. (top and bottom) :) Wish I could see what your's looks like so I can bring a picture the next time I go so she knows what I'm talking about. I also made an appointment to get my hair highlighted in a few weeks... can't wait!

If she comes we could alway play scrabble or cards.....I don't think she'll come....I may watch some of the game.
I survived the first night with the little one. Her mom was running late (lucky me... as she didn't stay to chat) and the little one was asleep when they got here (at 5:20). She slept until 8:30. I tried waking her a few times, but she as out cold. She woke up, ate dinner, played and when back to bed at 10:30. She woke up around 6:15, but that's only because her mom was talking so loud. I went back to sleep after they left and slept until 8:45. Ran to the grocery store and then we went bowling. Came home and went to a Home Interiors open house at the neighbor's house. Just got home and I have about an hour and a half before the little one gets here. I still need to put some groceries away and start some laundry. The little girl was very sweet and if she's that sweet all the time and sleeps that good, I'd keep her all the time. The problem with the mom is the woman really needs attention bad and just smothers the little one and says off the wall stuff. She gives way too much informations about things you'd never want to know.

LOL... I had a mom like that once. She acted like we were best friends, and she'd tell me a LOT more than I cared to know. LOL Gotta wonder...

Yikes! Couldn't believe how HOT it was today!! Blech!!
My mom and step dad came over and we grilled out and just hung out. Fun day. They just left a little bit ago and I think I'm gonna head up to bed and read for a bit. :)
