I am considering getting A Live-In Housekeeper, I would like to know if anyone here has a housekeeper, live-in or not. How much do they normally charge? How can you make sure they are trustworthy? How did they handle pets and children? I understand it depends on the person but I would like some idea until my housekeeper profiles arrive to my inbox sometime soon. There is just me, and my son, and a cat. I was wondering where you went to find your housekeeper and since my house is small being that two people live here there isnt much to clean but we are busy and like a clean house. The housekeeper would have a lot of free time so I guess that is an incentive...:)
So I basically need some tips and advice on getting a Live-In Housekeeper...
Thanks

I have never been so lucky to have a housekeeper that wasn't live-in, so of course I have never had a live-in housekeeper. LOL! I would say that I would several refrences and make sure that I checked them. I would also make sure expectations were set up front. What do you expect of the housekeeper? What should she expect from you? etc... Some states will even do a background check for a small fee. If you are going to have the housekeeper living with you, it might not be a bad idea to check into that as well. Good luck!

Word of mouth, agency. Make sure you have good credible references! They need to have their own space. They need to like your pets and deal with them cause they are part of your family. Have a clear cut job definition in mind, what her duties will be, hours kepts, is she off when you get home, ect.
