My sister just called. My mom was taken to the hospital by ambulance a few minutes ago. My sister doesn't know what happened...and is heading to the hospital to find out. I'd love some prayers....for my mom.
Prayer being said! I hope everything turns out ok. Keep us posted.

Update: My sister just called. I guess mom was stung by a bee, and had a severe allergic reaction. Her tongue was extremely swollen...she had to have some CPR (omg!!)...and she had a breathing tube in at first. She is in intensive care...having a lot of benedryl. She couldn't talk well (still has the swelling), but she did tell my sis that a bee stung her finger. She doesn't remember calling 911...but she must have. My brother arrived home at the same time the paramedics got there (coincidence, for sure!!). My heart is just beating like crazy...my thoughts were all over the place. She had a shunt put in her heart last year, and has extremely low blood pressure (regularly). They are keeping her at least overnight to keep an eye on her. Wooosshhh! I feel like I can breathe again...and stop pacing.

Dh had a reaction to a wasp sting recently. They shot him with an epipen, steroids and bendryl.

Someone was definitely watching over her! Thank God!! I guess the nurses said that she was very close to going into shock. I can't even think about that circumstance.

She'd never been stung by a bee before...so had no idea that she would be allergic. They probably are giving her more than benedryl...that's just the one that my sis happened to mention.
Oh, Mary...how scary for all of you!!! I am so glad she is ok!!!

She can talk now...(I called and spoke with her). She was outside talking to her landlord (who was going to cut the grass). She got stung by a bee, and asked the guy what she should do. He said, maybe put ice on it. As soon as she got upstairs to do that, she started to feel funny. She sat down, but had trouble breathing. Tried to call out for the landlord, but the lawnmower was running and he couldn't hear her. She picked up the phone, but couldn't remember how to use it. She remembers being frustrated...and couldn't move. She must've called 911 or "O" though...because the 911 people called her back!!! Thank God! They asked if she was okay, and she said "no". They wanted her to lay down, but she couldn't move or breathe. She said this whole period of time (minutes) are fuzzy to her. My brother got home at the same time as the paramedics (which is so wierd!!! He was out running errands and just happened to forget his paycheck at the house!). He's the one who called my sister to meet them at the hospital. The nurses said that had my mom waited even 5 more minutes for help, she would have had a much different outcome. I feel so blessed!!! She's doing much better tonight. They are keeping her in for observation until tomorrow. Thanks for the prayers, everyone!!!

My goodness! I am so glad she is ok! Does she have any other kind of allergies? I just watched the news and saw where AJ Foyt got something like 200 bees stings. Scary!
wow...How scary! Glad the outcome was not much worse. Hugs to you and your mom.
