Have you even been to or held an online baby shower? My sil is due in Dec and they live in Halifax. Outside of one cousin she really doesn't see, there isn't any other family out there. Her sis and I were talking of having an online shower through the web cams. I was thinking that we should send the gifts before the day so sil could unwrap them and see what it is instead of us showing her over the cam. That makes the most sense right? But how would I ask everyone to send a gift (if they are going to and how do I word that one) ahead of time to her. Should I just hold one normally and then ship it all to her (and then I get stuck with that expense on top of it all). Help me please! LOL I really want to plan a shower for her in the fall and I can't see her coming for it, she has been on bed rest too often to chance it.
Thank you all for any ideas, help with wording or anything else you have to add. :)

If everyone has webcams, I would have all the gifts sent to your sil's house with the 'party' being held so all can watch her open the gifts.

Sounds good to me. If everyone you are "inviting" has a webcam, it would be great. I would word the invite to say, "you're invited to a cyber baby shower for _____. This will take place via webcam on_____ at _____. If you would like to "attend" please send your gift to _____ by _____ and contact Mel who will send the virtual invite."

or something like that...sounds fun, lol.

Thank you both. I wasn't sure if it would sound funny if I asked them to send the gift to her by a certain date. I will host the party for the family here at my house and will video tape it as well as go on the web cam with sil. :)
