Well, I did it! --- I went shopping today without my makeup. Now I know to alot of you, that's not a big deal. But I wear "full drag" every day. I just feel better when I look my best. I had alot of work to do around the house before I went to town, but when I started to make dinner in the crock pot I was out of cream soups. Well that meant the shopping had to come first. I was in no mood to "doll" up, so I brushed my teeth, put on a little powder, lipstick, and a pair of funky sunglasses and off I went. I made it back without meeting anyone I know.
So -- which is it? Older and wiser, or incredibly lazy?

I'm not sure which it is, but I am the same way. I'm better about it in the summer when I have a little color, but it seems like everytime I step out the door without getting ready I run into everyone and their brother and I want to run and hide!! LOL!

I go out without make-up sometimes, but we live in Dallas suburb now, and it seems I run into all the "beautiful people" when I don't have make-up on!

BTW - Ya gotta share the recipe you were making.

Oh dear, my big idea of dressing up is if I actually BRUSH my hair before it stick it up in the clip in the morning! Lipstick? Maybe in the evening if I'm going out. Base? Powder? Never. Well...maybe if I'm working. But it's been sooooooo long.

I guess I'm on the other side of it. I suppose I could try a little harder, but I find that when you strive for the lowest commond denominater it's easier to acheive!

Well, hubby loves me anyway, and ds thinks I look like a movie star!

Kat,
I definitely think it's just being wiser not lazy. My dh always made fun of me if I put on make up just to run a quick errand. Your post got me thinking too--how many times when I go out do I pay attention to whether people I see have make up on, etc. Sure on some people it's more noticeable than on others, but I'm usually too involved in my mission to notice that about other people. I would guess they're just as busy (at least I hope so! LOL)

I don't ALWAYS wear make-up when I go out... but I do feel better about myself when I do. LOL When I run into somebody who I know normally wears make up and they weren't wearing it, I wouldn't think of it as any big deal... and quite honestly, I know of a few people who I think actually look much better WITHOUT it on. LOL :) I have a friend who I swear wears more make-up than Tammy Faye Baker... Ugh!!!!! When I do wear it I don't wear a LOT... just a little light shadow... mascara, blush and lip stick. :)

I don't' think you're being lazy... just getting older and wiser and realizing that it really doesn't matter. As somebody else mentioned... I normally don't even notice if other people are wearing it or not, so I'm probably the only one who would notice that I wasn't wearing it. Of course... my day care kids/parents seldom ever see me wearing it, so when I do I get all kinds of wonderful compliments. LOL Maybe I SHOULD take more notice... huh??? LOL :)
