We are getting ready to start our neighborhood "happy hour" like you have in your subdivision. A few questions... What time do you start/end? What days work best, weekday/weekend? How do you decide who gets the flag next? Do you just stick the flag in the ground in the front yard or do you all have flag holders? What all does the "host" supply for the party? Is the whole neighborhood invited? How many people usually show? Alcohol or no alcohol?

That is all I can think of right now! I am sure to come up with more though! TIA!

How fun!! Our flag is a white flag with a marroon martini glass on it. The flag has it's own holder, so we just stick in in the ground in the front yard. When it goes up (usually on a Wednesday) it means "happy hour in my yard on Friday". We have found that weekends are best, and Fridays seem to be easier, there was one on a Saturday one time. I have found that sending around a little flier helps too. They usually start around 5/5:30 and have been known to go till midnight! LOL We leave the ending time open. It is BYOB and bring your favorite appetizer. The host provides tables to put the food on, ice and ice chests and cups, napkins and paper plates. It's up to the host to decide if they want to have it in their front yard, backyard or even in their house...only one person has had it inside and that's cause it was raining. It's open to everyone on the street...all ages. The host can also invite some other families in the neighborhood if they want.
The person hosting it gets to decide who gets the flag the next time..we tease it's the first one to leave..the last one..but there really doesn't seem to be a method to the madness! LOL
