Good morning! Need to get ready for work then stopping by some shops to see what Halloween decor is half price. lol Dh has to work CARITAS (caring for the homeless in our church) this afternoon, so we'll trick or treat whenever he gets home.

Ya'll have a spooky day!! :ghost:

Looks like we'll be running downtown today. Again. I've been trying to get a pair of shoes for ds2 that he can manage on his own. Thought I found a cute pair of "work" boots (mainly for his costume) that would work, but his instep is so high he can't cram his little foot in there w/o help. Dd1 needs a couple of last minute things for her costume so we'll probably hit Walmart, too.

A friend from Tucson is spending the night tonight after helping at the church festival (thanks for supplying that word, btw, sista! :D ) so he doesn't have to drive all the way back home.

The kids are wanting to get dressed in their costumes now! Ds1 is kinda excited because he gets to dress up today for school as whatever he wants to be when he grows up. SO... we've got a little football player in the kitchen right now and the girls are green with envy.

Dh is in charge of the Rock-A-Boat ride at church again and this time he's dressed up like a fisherman instead of pirate. I think he has as much fun getting the costume together as the kids do theirs. :)

Do ya'll dress up? By the time I'm done helping four kids (and dh) with their costumes I feel like I'm dried up creativity-wise and could care less about dressing up! Is that awful? I use that as an excuse but frankly am not sure if I'd want to even if it weren't a factor.

A co-worker and myself are dressed up as medical personnel today. My niece lent us two of her scrub outfits and we got masks/gloves/bootie covers from the housekeepers. OH, and lab coats from the library on campus.

The excavators come today! Don't think ds is dressing up tonight, but I told him he can borrow what I'm wearing if he chooses.

Morning!

Would have slept longer but woke up thinking I had an appointment at 10:30 it's not until 1.

My knee is still sore but not as bad....but I went through the roof when I just knelt on it...It's not black and blue...which worries me...may have to get it checked it's the same knee I did in college and couldn't kneel on it for a year.

Anyway Have a Great Holloween

I've been swooning all morning, dh got me the Michael Bule cd and it's fantastic. :)
Kids have black and orange day at school so I managed to find orange and black t-shirts for them. Need to go and buy a pumpkin today and carve it. I also have some decorative leaf bags to fill, think I will save those for the kids after school. Costumes tonight are as easy as pie. Weather is sunny and warm for this time of year. We lucked out agian. :)
Have a great day all :pumpkin: :blackbat:

I'm looking forward to seeing all the kids in their costumes tonight. I've got certain dck's who always come back to see me each/every year. They change so much from one year to the other... it's always so nice to see them. :)

I'm picking my mom up at 9:00 to take her to Kohl's to hopefully buy a new winter coat. After hearing from my sister's that she's been complaining (and b!tching a lot about me) that I don't take her anywhere ( ) I thought I'd get her out of the house for a while. (although I think I take her out pllllenty) 8o I've been feeling SO frustrated with her lately, I just don't know what to do anymore. :(

Dawn's dropping Sarah off at 11:00, so I have to be back by then. Were going to carve her pumpkin then take a walk to the park to play. I've got to try to get her down for a nap so she'll be in a good mood to go trick or treating tonight... so I'm hoping she'll go down and sleep for at least a little while. (15 minutes will do it for her... LOL)

Anyway... I hope you all have a fun halloween. Take care....

Diane...

Got up early and went to Curves. Getting ready to clean the bathrooms and then jump in the shower. I'm subbing this afternoon at a provider's house for a few hours. I wrapped a bunch of Christmas presents last night and have 2 more to wrap when the kids are at school today. No big plans for Halloween. The kids decided they are getting too old to trick or treat so they are going to pass out the candy tonight.

Have a great Halloween! :ghost:

I don't dress up - probably only would if I were going to a party or lived in a fun neighborhood and I was actually home to answer the door and surprise the Trick or Treaters. I always want dh to dress up since he teaches. It's at a high school but I still think the students would get a kick out of it. :)

Ds1 felt the same way last year. He thought passing out the candy was going to be so much fun. I don't think he realized HOW many trick-or-treaters we get...hundreds!! It's a busy job. After ds2 and I got home, ds1 sheepishly admitted that he thought maybe he'd trick-or-treat again next year! ha ha So...guess who is going with us tonight? Yep...ds1. Dh will be on candy duty at our door. It's a pretty nice night. 54 degrees, and no rain. Should be nice. Our trick-or-treat hours are 5:30-7:30.

I remember years ago when we'd have hundreds of kids but now aday's, like tonight, we only had 40... and that's good compared with what we usually get. :) (I think last year we only had 27)

Diane...

We left for the festival at 5:30 and hadn't had any kids yet!!! 8o Usually they start coming around 4:00 or 4:30... so we had zero trick-or-treater's this year!!! :(

The monsoons came right when the parade was getting ready to start! It just poured, with massive thunder and lightening. About 6 ish it sort of let up, still thundering but people started to come. DD thought they were crazy but then when some neighbors came to the door with their 3 year olds, she said 'mom, I am heading out!' LOL I told her to walk in the middle of the street to dodge the lightening! LOL She and her friend were back in about 30 minutes, soaked. Dried off and then it started clearing up and they went back out again about 7.
We got rid of all our candy.
